A Marine fell in love with a teacher, now they create together.

She is a kindergarten teacher who loves to create items for her classroom and home. We live in Kansas City, where we enjoy creating together. Sometimes it is sketches that he draws and she adds color to, other times he builds her things. Like our relationship, he often provides the structure and strategy, and she adds the color and beauty. We opened The Number W as a way to create together, to become closer as a couple, and to share the beauty of the products that she creates.

As a teacher, she is a huge fan of Eric Carle, who said: “We have eyes, and we're looking at stuff all the time, all day long. And I just think that whatever our eyes touch should be beautiful, tasteful, appealing, and important.” Our goal here at The Number W is to create things that are beautiful, tasteful, appealing, and important. We believe that art and creativity are part of what make us human, made in the image of God. As with every other aspect of our lives, we hope that this shop brings glory to Jesus.
