How it started and how its going
Like many children, I dabbled in polymer clay for fun at a young age, but have always been artistic. Drawing was my strongest suit in high school and I thought that was the road I would take.
However in my high school senior year I took pottery and found an even higher love for clay over the pencil, even interning under my teacher after I graduated. Sadly however it didn't last as I was pretty much just put to work cleaning everything and not learning any more than I'd already been taught, so I left.
Christmas 2007 I got a bag of polymer clay and tools from my parents. Little unexpected but they thought it might be fun. And it was the start of everything!
Shortly after I dived into working with the polymer clay and self taught myself. Late 2008 I sold my art at my first convention, Another Anime Con, and met my clay partner in crime, Jesse. After that we decided to team up under the name C'lay La Vie, and start selling at conventions together and did so for many years.
Beginning 2018 we split on amicable terms as we were both getting too big for one table, though we will be teaming up for panels at cons whenever possible to talk about polymer clay. She now runs under the name of C'Lay La Vie while I've changed to The Polymer Okapi!
