I create handcrafted art and design pieces inspired by texture, color, and the world around me
I gather my inspiration from the people around me. I have never been able to sit still, creating works of art for as long as I can remember. I was that kid in art class whose work the teacher would hold up for everyone to see. It used to embarrass me, but now it feels almost ironic that in a world of ETSY shops and online creators, we actually need that kind of exposure.
Mixed media painting inspires me and now I can share some of my work with you all. Vintage art forms like crocheting, knitting, lace making, and macrame ... from way back ... that has found its way into the spotlight once again. I knew it would. Now, mini macrame jewellery is taking hold, and I absolutely love it.
Beads made of paper? Who would have thought? However, this isn't a new art-form, it's been around since Victorian times ~ when women would make jewellery for themselves using everything they had.
I source many of my stones from local glass blowers who make beautiful mistakes, and I transform those molten, one of a kind pieces into wearable art.
I am an engineer by trade who could never decide what to do when I grew up, so I chose to do both, build and create. Someone once called me a renaissance woman. At first, I thought that meant old, but when I looked it up, I sought her out to thank her.
