Another gorgeous ring, super fast. It's sooooooo silky smooth inside and out, substantial and well-made, and just gorgeous to look at. No one makes rings like Dave & Tess, and they're so easy to work with no matter what you want. Thank you so much for another perfect purchase!

About

The first thing to say is that we live and breathe metal.

Going to the studio and beating any kind of metal on an anvil is our idea of happiness. In other words, this shop is a pleasure to run and making a ring for a particular person (that is you!) makes the job even more special. I'm not kidding around when I say this!

We are purist in every sense of the word. Everything is made by us and if I have to sweep metal off the floor and pour an ingot to make your ring: I can do that too!

We are trained metalsmiths and Dave (the main man in The Ring Forge) has made everything from fine jewelry to custom metal lighting in architecturally noteworthy homes here (United States) and abroad (everywhere else!)

The deal is, we love what we do and picking up a hammer and a piece of nice juicy metal everyday is what makes us tick.

Something that is important to us is how we attain our raw material. We either recycle and reclaim the metal ourselves or buy it from only one supplier in the United States. The company we buy from makes the sheet we use from 100% recycled metals. This makes us feel good about our smaller footprint on this planet and should make you feel good too when you buy from us!

We make all of the rings in this shop of Fine Silver. What the heck is Fine Silver you may ask? Well, have you ever looked at a piece of silver and seen the stamp "sterling" or ".925"? - sure you have - well that is the mark of Sterling Silver which is .925 (out of 100) pure. The alloy used to harden-up the metal is for the most part copper.

Fine Silver on the other hand is the purest you can legally say silver is. The mark for fine silver is ".999" (again out of 100) so it is pure silver (or solid silver) in the true sense of the word. It's quality above all else is its pure silver color and its malleable and putty-pure look. Can I say JUICY - yep, it has a juiciness that surpasses sterling silver in our expert (and humble) opinion.

I can safely say we have made thousands of rings so you can be sure we know what we are doing ,and try to do it thoughtfully and masterfully each and every time.

That's about it folks, but if you want to know more, just ask!

Also - It would also be a good idea to read our shop policies before you purchase - it has all the info on sizing, materials, shipping, payment, refunds and so on :)

Returns and exchanges
All Items in our shop are made specifically to order. In other words: we do not have a "stock" of goods on hand. Each item in our shop is made when it is ordered ESPECIALLY FOR YOU and cannot be returned, exchanged or given shop credit. Please be sure of your order before purchasing as it is a FINAL SALE and NON-RETURNABLE.

If you order a ring that is too small, you can return it and have it sized up (I can do this up to a 1/4 or 1/2 size depending on the style of the ring) free of charge. If the ring needs to be altered or adjusted further The Ring Forge will need to charge accordingly, depending on the extent of the work. If the alteration affects the design we will tell you before you make your final decision as to how you want to proceed. If a ring can be altered without compromising the design, the charge will be anything from $20 to $60 depending on the extent of the work. if a new ring needs to be made, you will have to pay full price for a new ring. All shipping charges for alterations or exchanges will be the responsibility of the buyer.

All of the above RETURNS & EXCHANGES should be sent to:

Shipping
I do not enclose a packing slip with your order. The item is shipped in a plastic bag in a padded mailer. If you order “Gift-Wrap” please contact us.
As each piece is made to order my turnaround time is 1 - 2 weeks for all orders. However, we are pretty darn good about getting a ring out faster if you need it in a hurry SO LET US KNOW and we will do our very best to make it happen. If this is a gift please make sure you order the item in plenty of time. If you need to “Rush” the order, there is a button to add a RUSH to your order in which case the item will process in 2 days and then shipped priority mail. if you need Express Shipping, let us know so we can calculate the correct shipping.

SHIPPING ADDRESS
All items are shipped to address you have given to Etsy, unless you have made other arrangements with us through a convo. Make sure your address is accurate and safe to receive packages, as I do not require Signature Confirmation for a package to be delivered. If you need to have “signature confirmation”, please let me know before the item is shipped.

TRACKING / CONFIRMATION
All of The Ring Forge’s orders are shipped via the USPS via Etsy and you will automatically receive delivery confirmation with a tracking number. You can use this number to track your package.
Delivery Confirmation is added to every U.S. Shipment. If an order does not show up but is marked "delivered", by the USPS, I am not liable for replacement. I have done everything I can possibly do to mail the package and provide a tracking number. You can contact your local Post Officer or mail carrier to find out the whereabouts of a mis-delivered package.
The shipping price includes insurance for all packages so if something gets lost in the mail it can be claimed and we can make the order again without any further expense to you ( except shipping charge).

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING – Each package shipped internationally is insured. The Ring Forge does not ship to UAE, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Italy, or Hong Kong.

Generally U.S. shipping is 1-7 days.
International shipping can take anywhere from 7 – 30 days (so be patient!)
US PRIORITY: if you need something sent faster there are two buttons to Upgrade for US packages ($10 for priority shipping and $29 for express shipping). For International Packages you will need to contact me with the details and then wait for me to tell you the charge. I will still have to wait until payment clears before shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
ALL RINGS ARE MADE BY US, BY HAND IN OUR STUDIO! ALSO ALL OF OUR METAL IS EITHER RECYCLED BY US OR BOUGHT FROM A COMPANY IN THE UNITED STATES WHO USE 100% RECYCLED METAL TO FABRICATE THEIR SHEET METAL. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO US!

*Because all of our rings are handmade, each ring is unique, each pattern a little different and any slight variation is part of the process*

Ring Sizing: How do I get my ring size? There are a few ways that we would recommend: 1) - You can buy the handy-dandy ring sizer from our shop (comes with instructions!) and 2) - you can walk into a jewelry store adn ask them to measure your ring size and they should be happy to do it!

Our rings range in width from narrow to wide and if you are considering a skinny band (anything from 3mm down) then we suggest you go with your normal ring size (the size in which you like your rings to fit - some of us like a ring to fit a little loose and some of us like it to be snug). If you want one of our wider bands (8mm and up) then we suggest sizing up a 1/4 or a size or so. Wider bands tend to need that little extra.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHOOSING AN INCORRECT SIZE. IF YOU PURCHASE THE WRONG SIZE THERE IS A CHARGE FOR RETURNING TO RESIZE (THE AMOUNT OF THIS CHARGE DEPENDS ON WHETHER THE RING HAS TO BE SIZED UP OR DOWN)

WEARING COPPER: As you well know the ring is copper, with a patina that speeds up the oxidation process, turning it black/brown. The ring will react to your body chemistry. Some wearers make the ring bright while others do not. If your finger turns colorful, (green) you can put a coat of clear nail polish on the inside or all over the ring. This will help shield the copper from the body’s natural chemistry. If the nail polish wears off, just apply another coat. I wear copper rings often and some days there is a reaction and other days no reaction. THE NATURE OF COPPER MEANS IT WILL REACT TO THE AIR AND YOUR SKIN. IF THE RING CHANGES COLOR, IT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORKMANSHIP AND WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE VARIATIONS THAT TAKE PLACE. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH POSSIBLE REACTIONS I SUGGESTION YOU DO NOT BUY A COPPER RING. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY REACTIONS YOUR SKIN MAY HAVE TO THE METAL.

WEARING A COPPER WITH A SILVER LINING ON THE INSIDE: We have used a patina on the ring to darken the copper, but the patina will change over time depending on where you live and how your body reacts to the metal. THIS RING IS LINED WITH A SUBSTANTIAL SHEET OF SILVER, WHICH REALLY HELPS KEEP THE COPPER AWAY FROM YOUR SKIN AND CUTS DOWN ON ANY POSSIBLE REACTION. HOWEVER, some bodies make the ring bright while others do not. You can put a coat of clear nail polish on the copper that will help shield the copper from the air.

SOME SILVER RINGS HAVE BEEN GIVEN A PATINA TO DARKEN THE APPEARANCE, BUT, THIS PATINA WILL CHANGE OVER TIME AS YOU WEAR THE RING. HOW IT CHANGES WILL DEPEND ON YOUR BODY CHEMISTRY AND THE AIR WHERE YOU LIVE. SOMETIMES THE COLOR WILL STAY THE SAME OR DEEPEN, WHILE OTHER TIMES; IT WILL BECOME “BRIGHTER” IN COLOR. THIS CHANGE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORKMANSHIP BUT IS JUST THE NATURE OF THE METAL. THIS INFO. ISTO MAKE YOU AWARE THAT COLOR CHANGE IS POSSIBLE AND WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CHANGES WHICH MAY OCCUR. WE WILL GLADLY RE-PATINA A RING IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT, BUT THERE WILL BE A CHARGE. IN GENERAL, HOWEVER, 95% OF PEOPLE LOVE THE CHANGES THEIR RING GOES THROUGH, AS IT BECOMES PART OF THEM!

Many rings in our shop are made of Fine Silver. The mark for fine silver is ".999" (as opposed to .925 for sterling) so it is pure silver (or solid silver) in the true sense of the word. It's quality above all else is its pure silver color and its malleable and putty-pure look. Can I say JUICY - yep, it has a juiciness that surpasses sterling silver in our expert (and humble) opinion.

A NOTE ON GOLD-FILLED METAL - Gold -filled metal has the look and feel of gold without the price tag. There is no way to tell the difference unless it is tested so you can wear it just as you would gold. if you are a technical nerd, the process is pretty basic; a solid layer of gold is bonded with pressure and heat to a base metal. This is different than rolled or plated gold which has only a thin veneer of gold which is likely to rub off over time. This does not happen to gold-filled metal as the layer of gold is thick.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning is recommended to maintain your jewelry in the state in which you received it. I recommend storing in a plastic bag when not being worn (oxygen can change the color of certain metals).

Our rings can be washed and cleaned with a soft toothbrush and mild dish detergent. They can also be cleaned with a jeweler's polishing cloth (which you can purchase from our shop!).

A ring's patina is affected by the chemicals in our skin and so is different for everybody. Giving it a cleaning every now and again should keep it looking as good as new.
