Announcement
It seems that my glass enameled tatting shuttles run in waves of technique. I have been enjoying the creation of these shuttles to explore various enameling techniques as well as color. My latest joy of creation has been in achieving what is known as the 'Crackle Enameling Technique'. The following shuttles that I post are all created with this technique. Social Isolation has been my friend in giving me time to spend in my enameling studio (as well as tatting myself!)

5 out of 5 starsI learned so much about tatting just from this book! I'm something of a beginner, as I only recently learned to tat, but I fell in love with it and want to learn as much as I can. I vaguely managed to grasp the concept of split rings from reading Ann Orr's writing, and decided that they're wonderful and that I need to know more about how to use them. "THE book on split ring tatting" indeed! The lessons are clearly communicated and once you've read through all of it, the patterns are intuitive and easy to understand. A whole new world of tatting has been revealed!

5 out of 5 starsI cannot say enough how much I enjoy this series of tatting books. Not only are the designs so creative but simplistically beautiful and very addictive to make.

5 out of 5 starsI absolutely love these tatting books. The patterns are so intriguing and much like working puzzles (good for the brain). I have been tatting for 68 years and this technique is really fun!

5 out of 5 starsThe Split-Ring Queen - - Karen Bovard - - has done it again! With this volume of lovely snowflakes, tatted mostly as split rings (with a few rings and thrown-off rings), she has set before us a delightful diversion for many an afternoon to come. Clear visual patterns, each element numbered to enable us to follow along easily, and elements labeled as to how they're created (R=Ring, SR=Split Ring, etc.) make the tatting relaxing; and deciding which lovely snowflake to tat first will be your only big decision! Well-worth the price!

5 out of 5 starsWhat an absolutely beautiful work of art! I adore this shuttle, it has quickly become my favorite to use, as well as look at. Photos don't do the design justice; the trio of large snowflakes are beautiful, and the silver flecks against the dark blue background remind me of snowfall at night. As for actually using it, I learned how to tat with a flat shuttle so they are definitely my preferred style. This one is a lovely shape and size with a nice weight to it without feeling too heavy. The tips are a bit sharp, but this is actually a bonus to me because depending on the thread I can actually use them as a pick. I'm not sure if the slight curve is intentional as it's not shown in the photos, but it is also a bonus as it lends a certain whimsy to its movements. All in all, a treasured piece in my collection.
