My house may be a Smudge Factory, but at least my ceilings are clean!
Welcome to The Smudge Factory®!
Thank you so much for shopping with us!
I am a full-time mom and wife to my 5 kids and husband Matt. Together, he and I make a great team. We've tackled many DIY home improvement projects - and he's always able to bring my crazy ideas and designs to fruition. When we moved into a new home, it came new projects and a new, fresh design style. Since I love to create, each piece of decor in my house was hand-painted or created by me...or built by my husband! We enjoyed the process so much, that we decided it was time for me to open my Etsy shop, offering my hand lettering in digital format - created specifically for you. Each design is hand-lettered by me on my iPad Pro with my Apple Pencil.
Did I mention I'm also a reclaimed wood hoarder? Oh yeah, that too. ;)
When I first started my shop, I was hand painting wood signs using my hand lettering. I began offering some of my designs as vector art because I know there are a lot of people out there that love DIY projects. My files started out with the intention to be used as stencils for amateur sign makers for people who have their own die cut machines. Little did I know that there are so many other uses for vector files! Some just decide to purchase, print and frame for a unique, inexpensive piece of art. Whatever you decide use them for, they'll be sure to add a personal touch to your projects. ANY of our original vector art designs can be simply printed as wall art. With a PDF file included in each download, you can enlarge the prints to any size you need for virtually any project!
About 16 years ago I left my full-time job as a graphic designer to stay home with our daughter when she was born. A skill I unintentionally put on hold when I began having children was drawing. My favorite medium is charcoal, and I really love creating portraits. I decided to put a new spin on that, and got really into chalk art designs, as chalk looks and acts like charcoal, but the subject and medium blended more with the theme of my shop. I then picked up my iPad and stylus with the intention of creating quick drafts that would then be turned into signs and/or chalk art pieces. After converting those sketches into vector art, a new love was born - creating digital vector cut files!
Since our daughter was born, we have added 4 boys to the mix - and while I really struggle to keep things clean, we take pride in staying silly and never taking ourselves too seriously. My house may be a Smudge Factory, but at least my ceilings are clean! ;)
