A couple of years ago, when my son was a baby, I decided to try to make some decor for our house and for his room. I had seen some cool stuff that people had done with vinyl so I decided to give it a try. All it took was one project and I was hooked! It takes a lot of restraint to keep from putting vinyl stuff up all over the house! There's a fine line between just enough and way too much. Once my house was all decor'ed up, I needed to find another outlet to satisfy the monster I created! With several friends getting married, I figured there had to be some way I could make gifts for them and decided to make some personalized frames.
After snapping some quick pics (with my phone) of the gifts I had made and showing them off to friends, they asked how much I would charge them to make one for them! I never expected that a gift could turn into a business idea, nor did I ever think to actually take "good" pictures of my creations. A quick grab with my phone was good enough for me (at the time) to be able to look back at the projects that I had done. As I make more things, I need to remember to pull out the good camera and take better pictures so I'm not stuck using less-than-ideal pictures for my listings here.
Oh, about my shop name...I made some stuff for someone, and even though I told him my name, he still insisted on looking at me and calling me "The Sticker Lady". I got a chuckle out of it. When I finally decided to make the leap and open a shop, I struggled with coming up with a name for it. Not having the creative mind to come up with anything better, "The Sticker Lady" it was!
