From Mom to Maker: Creating Resources to Support Kids with Autism
Hi there! I’m a mom to an amazing child with autism, and my journey as a resource creator started with a simple need: to help support my son in his everyday life. He was diagnosed with ASD during the pandemic, and due to limited resources, I had to get creative with researching, designing, and adapting my own tools to support his learning.
This journey led to the creation of Sunflower Spectrum—a place where, just like in a garden, every seed can bloom. I started crafting my own social stories, adapted books, visual supports, and learning tools to help my son understand emotions, behaviors, and routines. Little did I know, these resources would not only make a huge difference for him but also spark a passion to share what I had learned with others.
At Sunflower Spectrum, we believe that every child, like every seed, has the potential to grow and flourish in their own unique way. My goal is to provide parents, teachers, therapists, and caregivers with the same level of support I found for my own family. I want to help your child bloom by offering tools that make learning fun, manageable, and effective—especially for those that are neurodivergent.
In my shop, you’ll find social stories, visual aids, behavior management tools, and more, all designed to provide kids with the structure and guidance they need to thrive. I am consistently adding new products weekly!
Thank you for being here and supporting your child’s growth. Together, we can create a garden where every seed blooms. I can’t wait to be part of your child’s journey!
