Jewelry For Writers, Travelers, and Other Interesting People

I've always been crafty. Although my family encouraged me to be scholarly, I was attracted to the arts, to thinking, dreaming, creating.

When I lived in Vermont many years ago, a friend owned a shop called The Store in Essex. It had such a plain name, but it was the most beautifully appointed, well edited shops I'd ever seen. Later, when I moved back to San Francisco, there was a shop I'd pass on Valencia street every day that was only open on the weekends. It was such a cool store - I could see all the great things they had for sale through the window - and I'd think to myself "That's kinda awesome they're only open when they really want to be". So, I combined both elements of the two shops I admired, and came up with The Weekend Store.

I totally love what I do. I am grateful that I get to make my living by making treasures out of what might otherwise be considered trash.

We ship internationally!

Please make sure the address you provide is correct. We will not be held responsible for shipments sent to the incorrect address as a result of information provided to us.

Domestic buyers: You will receive tracking/confirmation # via email once your package is shipped.

International buyers: Overseas/Canada orders will be shipped with insurance. **Please note - depending on the value of your order, you may be charged additional duties/broker fees once the package arrives in your country. Please check with your local post office to determine what those costs, if any, might be. The Weekend Store is not responsible for these charges, nor do we alter customs forms.**

Returns: If you are ever unhappy with the items you get from us, you may return them within two weeks, in the same condition you purchased them.

The items need to be in their original bags with labels. Please include a note explaining what you would like instead (exchange, refund, etc.) Buyer pays the cost of shipping of returns.

Incorrect or incomplete addresses will result in your order being delayed. Please make sure you enter the correct, complete address when placing the order. We are not responsible for delays as a result of incorrect information provided.

If an address needs to be changed altogether, sent to a different recipient, etc, the order will need to be canceled, with the buyer repurchasing the listing and entering the updated shipping information then.

Multiple orders shipping to the same location will be combined into one package, unless the buyer has chosen a mail upgrade such as Priority or Express.

All items by The Weekend Store are handmade to order, and generally take 3 -5 business days to create. Orders placed Monday - Thursday are processed (we begin working on them) the next business day. Orders placed Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday. If you need an item by a specific date, please let us know, either by email or phone - we'll try to make sure you have it when you need it. (Overnight/express shipping charges may occur)

All shipping is through the USPS unless otherwise stated or arranged. You may choose Priority Mail, Express Shipping, or FedEx Ground at checkout. I do combine shipping if multiple orders are shipping to the same address, and issue refunds (if required) at the time I print the shipping label.

----SHIPPING ADDRESSES----
I always ship to the address on your Etsy order unless you indicate otherwise. Please be sure to provide your correct and current shipping address. If your order fails to reach you due to incorrect shipping information provided when your order was placed, I reserve the right to request compensation to resend your order. If you have a suite or apartment number, this is required in order to reach the delivery address.

----LOST PACKAGES----
Packages sent to domestic addresses are not considered lost until the 21 day mark from the date the package was sent, at which time I will send an affidavit (a sworn document) for you to verify that the package has not yet been received. If your package is lost due to an incorrect address provided on the order, I reserve the right to request compensation to resend your order.

----SHIPPING NOTIFICATIONS----
Shipping notifications are sent by email to your Etsy email address the day your order's label is created - the order will get to the post office within 48 hours of the label being created.


---PROCESSING TIME---
The Processing Time is how long it will take your order to be printed, picked, packed and prepared for shipping. The Weekend Store generally needs 3 -5 business days to process orders. The processing time does not include transit time once the package has been shipped.


-----INTERNATIONAL ADDRESSES----

We also ship via USPS First Class internationally, starting at $14.

-----LOST INTERNATIONAL PACKAGES-----

USPS First Class is absolutely, positively the least reliable method to get a package delivered. It is absolutely a case of 'you get what you pay for' with the USPS - use the cheaper service and receive cheaper service - pay more (for FedEx or Global Express) and there is reliable tracking, accountability, etc. It is expensive, and worth it. That said...

Packages sent to international addresses are not considered lost until the 45 day mark from the date the package was sent, at which time I will send an affidavit (a sworn document) for you to verify that the package has not yet been received. If your package is lost due to an incorrect address provided on the order, I reserve the right to request compensation to resend your order.


----CUSTOMS / DUTY / TAXES / VAT / ETC----
International shipments are shipped USPS unless otherwise arranged. All customs duty fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Customs duties,
taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, or tariffs could be applied to your package at the discretion of your local customs officers or post office. I do not have any control over customs and the packages they randomly inspect, and packages I ship are no more likely to be inspected than any other package.

----FALSIFYING CUSTOMS FORMS----
I do not undervalue the contents of the package on the customs form - it is against the law. Please do not ask me to break the law.

If the package has not been received, I will either reimburse or resend the items at my discretion. Shipping to international locations typically takes between 2-3 weeks, however due to many reasons outside of my control, it can take up to 45 days to receive your package.

If your order is being shipped to an address in GERMANY, you can anticipate slow movement of your package through the customs department.
