I feel I must interject here
My mom owned a craft store when I was younger, so I had a pretty limitless supply of materials to play around with as I grew up. My mom taught me her love of sewing, painting, scrap booking, and beading, but nothing really stuck until I got my hands on my first metal stamp set and some silver blanks when I was 21. As I held my hammer aloft Thor-style, I knew I'd found something I could fall in love with.
Before I found my calling in hand stamped jewelry, I started out on Etsy by making beaded necklaces and bracelets. When I grew tired of that, I tried my hand at resin collage pendants. Hand stamped jewelry allows me the most creativity and ability to stretch my geeky muscles. I've grown very fond of my hammer and steel bench block and I think of them as silent friends.
I live in a pretty apartment that I share with my husband, our kitties Alice and Kaplan, and my king snake Nimhe in the desert land of Washington state. I know what you're thinking, but Washington isn't all evergreen trees and endless rain. We have a fairly large desert complete with tumbleweeds and more wind than I'd like, and that's been my home for almost all my life.
