American Wool, Crafted with Intention
Welcome — I’m Jaimie, the hands and heart behind The Woolsmiths.
My studio is a heritage‑inspired space devoted to the beauty, history, and tactile joy of wool. I work with American‑grown fibers from both local farms and domestic mills, preparing each offering by hand — washing raw fleece, opening it on a swing picker, carding small‑batch batts, dyeing combed top, or spinning yarn with intention.
My focus is simple: to honor the character of American wool and offer thoughtfully prepared fiber that feels good in your hands and connects you to the sheep it came from.
Some fibers begin as raw fleece from nearby shepherds, washed gently in my studio to restore their natural loft. Others arrive as beautifully milled combed top from American wool growers, ready to be dyed, blended, or spun. No matter the starting point, every braid, batt, cloud, and skein is shaped through slow, hands‑on work.
Whether you’re a spinner, felter, weaver, or simply someone who loves the feel of real wool, I hope these materials inspire your next project and carry forward the long, beautiful tradition of working with fiber.
