Frequently asked questions

What is 999 fine silver , and the reasons of use 999 fine silver for your bangles & cuff bracelets and some of your rings ?

999 fine silver is the closest type of metal to the pure silver. It is 99.9% pure silver, making it the most valuable kind. Premium 999 silver has a more vitreous luster than the bright polish of 925 sterling silver. Additionally, it’s slightly softer than 925 sterling. To make our 999 silver pieces more durable, we use double and even triple weights. That is why our bangles and cuffs are slightly heavier. Most importantly, we use 999 fine silver because it is highly resistant to tarnish.

We want the jewelry you buy from us to be comfortable, easy to care for, and durable. And that’s why we use 999 silver .You can wear them every day without wearing them out, and they are even safe for wear in the shower!

How do I take care of my 999 fine silver ?

Since 999 fine silver is highly resistant to tarnish, you can wear it on daily basis and throughout everyday activities like washing your dishes or showering.

As a testimony to the resilience of 999 jewelry from the Tibi Collection, family and friends are still wearing the bangles I give them 10 years ago and they have yet to experience any negative signs of wear and tear, like discoloration, tarnish, or oxidation.

Since our mission is to make meaningful, comfortable fine jewelry that lasts forever, even our 999 jewelry is easy to care for. Simply place your 999 jewelry item in the silver cloth provided with your purchase and seal in a plastic bag when you are not wearing your jewelry.

How do I take care of my 925 sterling silver?

Since 925 sterling silver will tarnish over time, Although tarnishing can’t be prevented, it can be delayed. Here’s what you should do:

1. Wear your 925 silver jewelry often, as your skin will "clean" the silver and keep it shiny.

2. Remove the jewelry before any activity that requires you to come in contact with water. (For example, take it off before taking a shower or washing the dishes.)

3. Keep it away from chemicals, and do not spray perfume directly on the jewelry.

4. The final way to protect your 925 jewelry is to take proper care of it when you aren’t wearing it. First, take it off and clean and polish it. Then place it in the silver cloth we provided and place the cloth in a sealed plastic bag.

What do I do if the silver tarnish?

You will receive at least one professional-grade silver cloth in each gift bag for every item you purchase.

For carved and engraved jewelry, use a soft toothbrush with a bit of dishwasher detergent to cleanse the hard-to-reach spots.

Under normal conditions, the wide bands, bangles, and cuffs from the Tibi Collection will not tarnish. This is because they are are 99.9% fine silver and therefore highly resistant to tarnish.

If you notice a yellowish hue forming on your jewelry, be advised that this is not tarnish. This is oxidation. In this case, you should use the materials included in the gift bag we sent you. Use the green side to remove it and then wipe it off with our silver cloth.

International Order TAX and DUTY FEES

Some countries require a Duty Fee, Tax, or Customs Charge before an order can be delivered. These charges are somewhat random and relatively infrequent, but they are 100% the buyer’s responsibility, as you are the recipient of the mail. This is not an additional shipping charge, nor are we responsible for your taxes and duty fees. Please be aware of the individual taxes, duty fees and customs charges for your specific country.

We DO NOT ACCEPT the refund case if the package is returned directly from the Customs or abandoned at the Customs by the buyer (receiver). This is because we already paid a high amount shipping cost in order to fulfill your request. Please be responsible after you place your order.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Need your order giftwrapped? We’ve got you covered! All our orders include free giftwrapping!

Transit Time within United States

Orders within the US are shipped via USPS and have estimated delivery days depending on your location. This does not include weekends or holidays. The shipping times listed are estimates, but they are not guaranteed times. This is because there are multiple factors can slow down an order once it leaves our hands. (For example, things like weather, busy holiday seasons, and accidents).

For this reason, we are willing to help but not responsible for the time in which a package travels once it has been accepted by USPS.

Transit Time for International Orders

Orders outside of US vary vastly, depending on your location. Occasionally, packages may be substantially delayed if they are held in customs. Because we cannot control the speed in which processing occurs through your country’s customs officials, please understand that we are willing to help in every way but not responsible for shipping delays once the order leaves our hands. Though delays are not common, they do happen occasionally.

MARKING ORDERS AS “GIFTS” TO AVOID DUTY FEES IS ILLEGAL

Requests to mark orders as “Gift” on our customs forms to avoid your possibility of paying a customs fee or tax will be ignored. Marking purchased goods as “Gifts” is illegal. Please be aware of the individual taxes, duty fees and customs charges for your specific country.

Return & Exchange

Buyers are responsible for return or exchange shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
