Welcome to Tiger Lily's Threads
Would you believe that all of this came about from a simple sewing blog?
Here's a little backstory...
I had been hand sewing since I was in junior high school, and had a huge love for historical clothing. Even more-so, as I was a historical reenactor; the 18th century (Revolutionary Era) was my particular favorite, but I also delved into other eras that I found alluring such as the Regency Era, the Late Victorian and Edwardian Era.
As time progressed, I quickly connected and befriended like-minded sewers who also loved creating historic costumes ensembles, and had a series of blogs to show their work. So, I figured I'd create a blog too, that way, I could journal and record my progress and sewing projects. This opened a path for me to start taking sewing commissions here and there for friends and acquaintances. This went on for a few years, but alas, I felt that time and my work schedule outweighed my need to create and have a second income (gas is not cheap!).
So, fast forward to September of 2022. The urge to open up a small online store was calling. So, I took a leap of faith and dove right in...and never looked back.
As I had done so many decades ago, I still focus on hand-crafting unique 18th and early 19th century items and ensembles. I am also a huge stickler for the high quality of the item, than quantity of the item. When I create a project I want to make sure that what YOU, the customer, is recieving is the perfect piece (whether it's coming off the sewing machine, knitting needles, or hand-sewn I ALWAYS check the quality).
If you'd like to see more of my work and behind the scenes photos, please follow me on Instagram or check out my blog where it all began.
