Tiny Erica Jewelry empowers creativity and self expression within the wearer.

Hello, and thanks for visiting Tiny Erica Jewelry. Each piece of jewelry you see within my collection is carefully and lovingly designed on paper, crafted by hand, and made to last utilizing high quality and ethically sourced sterling silver, 14k gold, and gemstones. Express and empower your unique creativity and style with your favorite pieces from the line.

T H E W O R K

From a gratifying process of play and exploration, the earliest iteration of Tiny Erica Jewelry was born in 2012 as a simple examination of aesthetics and design principles that were of great interest to me after obtaining my BFA in 2009. Over time the collection metamorphosed into something refined and playful, combining sleek clean lines with just the right amount of rough-and-tumbled texture to create a collection of jewelry that is minimal, durable, versatile, and incredibly expressive and fun to wear.

The design principles utilized in my work are informed by my educational background in graphic design as well as my current surroundings and experiences: shapes and textures found in nature are reduced to simple linear patterns and lightweight architectural structures in the heirloom-quality pieces in the collection.

I do my best to ensure that the work is created using best practices, ethically sourcing and recycling as much material as possible. I often melt down my scraps of silver and gold to reuse them, and my tools, stones, and any additional materials are sourced from fair and sustainable companies that I trust.

T H E A R T I S T

For me personally, metalsmithing has always been an incredibly gratifying process of play and exploration: the ideas that strike at a moment's notice (or after many long hours of brainstorming), the numerous sketches made to work out the logistics of constructing a piece, carefully choosing materials that work best with each design, and finally working with my own two hands to build the work -- forging, soldering, shaping, filing, sanding, polishing, and stone setting. It's challenging and cathartic, and with each new piece of jewelry that I create I learn something new about both the process and myself.

Shortly after obtaining my BFA in 2009 with dual degrees in graphic design and metalsmithing I obtained my first job in the jewelry industry where I worked as the bench jeweler for a mom and pop jewelry store in my hometown fixing and repairing heirloom pieces as well as designing one of a kind items for both the shop and our clientele. Later I worked for several years as a metalsmith for a production company in my current city, Cleveland, OH. All the while I dreamt of starting my own small business, so in August 2016 I made the decision to dedicate myself fully to Tiny Erica Jewelry and left my full time job to pursue what I love.

In addition to hand fabricating my own production line I also love collaborating with clients and customers to create beautiful one-of-a-kind heirlooms that will be loved and cherished for generations to come.

Thank you for visiting the shop today. Please keep in touch, as I would love to work with you.

Shop policies

Please carefully read listing descriptions before making a purchase, as they include detailed measurements and additional information about each piece of jewelry in the shop, including production times. I also strongly recommend knowing your ring size before completing a ring purchase. If you are unsure of your ring size, my best recommendation is popping over to a local jewelry store, as most establishments will size you for free! This is the most accurate and reliable way to determine your ring size and ensure a proper fit. Alternatively, I now offer adjustable plastic sizers in my shop (Follow this link to view the listing and purchase a plastic ring sizer: https://www.etsy.com/listing/554801227/reusable-plastic-finger-sizing-gauge-for?ref=shop_home_active_1).

If you need any assistance or have questions regarding pieces in the shop, personalizations, or your very own one of a kind custom piece, please reach out here on Etsy or via email; I'd love to collaborate with you!

🔹 INFORMATION ABOUT CUSTOM ORDERS🔹
Custom orders (pieces designed specifically for you) are non-returnable and non-refundable due to their specific and personalized nature. They generally take a MINIMUM of 4 weeks and up to 10 weeks to build.

Every custom piece typically begins with a consultation (either physically, virtually, or even via email) to discuss your inspirations, the occasion, the recipient, your preferred materials, any need by dates, and your budget. A non refundable deposit is required before I begin the design process (this deposit goes toward the total cost of the finished piece), then I'll take to the drawing board to sketch design ideas (a collaborative process that typically takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks), and once we narrow in on a final design and agree upon a payment plan for the remaining balance I'll source materials (which takes anywhere from 2-3 weeks) and build out the piece (1-3 weeks production time). Once the piece is completed and paid for in full, arrangements will then be made for either pickup or delivery (in light of current events, local pickup is currently unavailable and all custom orders will be shipped upon completion).

🔹 PRICING FOR CUSTOM WORK🔹
🔹 Sterling silver pieces are assessed and accepted on a case-by-case basis and typically begin at $200+.
🔹 14k Gold pieces may begin as low as $450 and can quickly work their way up from there. Engagement rings typically begin around $1000 and generally fall in the ballpark of $1500-3500. Gold pricing varies greatly from project to project because each build is so deeply specific to the individual I’m working with, but I’m able to work with most budgets! Additionally, I also offer flexible payment plans to keep this process simple and approachable for folks!

🔹 For every rule there is an exception, so if you have an idea for a custom piece reach out and I'm happy to provide more insight into timelines and pricing for your specific request!

If you are interested in one-of-a-kind custom work please reach out! I'd love to work with you.

Frequently asked questions
Gift Wrapping and Gift Notes:

If you're looking to have a gift shipped directly to your loved ones this holiday season (or anytime, really) let me take care of the wrapping for you!

There is no additional charge for a hand written gift note, and there is a small additional fee of just $4 USD per order for gift wrapping. Simply mark your order as a gift at checkout to see gift options.

Your Tiny Erica Jewelry will be wrapped in a hand painted brown craft paper with a simple satin ribbon tied in a bow.

What Is the Process of Placing a Custom Order?

Custom pieces are non-returnable & non-refundable, & they can take from 4-10 weeks to make.

Message me here or via email at hello@tinyerica.com

The process usually begins with a consultation to discuss your inspirations, the occasion, the recipient, any preferred materials, need-by dates, & your budget. A non-refundable deposit is then required to begin the design process, at which point I'll begin sketching designs for you (a collaborative process that takes 2-4 weeks). Once a final design is chosen we'll arrange a payment plan for the remaining balance. Next, I'll source materials (1-3 weeks) & build out the piece (1-3 weeks). Once the payment is complete & the piece is finished arrangements will be made for a local pick up or shipment!

Custom Order Pricing:

Custom solid gold builds greatly vary in price, but may begin as low as $450+ for a simple pendant or earrings, or $1000+ for an engagement ring, & can easily work their way up depending on the design complexity and nature of the project.

Custom sterling silver pieces are assessed and accepted on a case-by-case basis and typically begin at $200+.

These numbers are very general ballparks and for every rule there is an exception, so if you have an idea for a custom piece please reach out with your idea! I’m generally able to work with most budgets and I'm always happy to provide more detailed insight into pricing for your one of a kind concept!

Additionally, I also offer payment plans and flexible timelines to keep this process simple!

What materials are used to make your jewelry?

I work with sterling silver and 14k yellow, rose, and white gold. Look to product descriptions to find more specific and detailed information about individual pieces in the collection, such as precious metal type, type of stones, measurements, sizing, etc.

For folks with nickel sensitivities: sterling silver, yellow gold, and rose gold are generally nickel free. White gold does contain nickel.

Can you repair my broken jewelry?

I do not offer jewelry repair services except for Tiny Erica Jewelry pieces.

Can you work on custom pieces remotely with folks outside of Cleveland?

Absolutely! I have years of experience working remotely with folks to design beautiful one-of-a-kind custom pieces. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have an idea for a special custom piece and we can schedule a safe and socially distant video chat, phone call, or we can even discuss your ideas over email if you prefer!

Jewelry Cleaning Tips:

Gold does not tarnish, but sterling silver will tarnish with time. It's commonly caused by moisture in the air & even the pH level of your skin — this is normal and is the nature of the material — but by handling your jewelry with care and following best practices, you can prolong the life and finish of your pieces.

BE MINDFUL that commercial jewelry cleaners WILL remove antique & darkened finishes from pieces and can be too harsh for use on softer stones like pearls and opals, so proceed with extreme caution.

I recommend using polishing cloths specially made for jewelry for general upkeep of your pieces. For a deeper clean that removes both tarnish & buildup from lotions and perfumes, see my DIY jewelry cleaner "recipe" below!

DIY Jewelry Cleaner Using Common Household Items:

This method is not intended for use on softer stones like pearls & opals, but is safe on harder stones like garnets, sapphires, rubies, etc, & is completely safe for sterling & gold!

In a small dish mix 1 tsp water, 1 tsp baking soda, & a few drops of liquid dish soap into a paste. Use a soft bristled toothbrush to gently scrub your jewelry with the paste, then rinse with water & repeat as needed. Dry your piece thoroughly with a soft clean towel.

Warm white vinegar also removes particularly heavy tarnish from sterling silver. Gently warm a small amount of white vinegar in a microwave safe cup, then dip your jewelry & scrub with the baking soda paste just as before. Rinse and repeat as needed. Rinse with water & thoroughly pat dry.

Tips For Tarnish Prevention:

- Tarnish is caused by moisture.

- Avoid storing jewelry in the open air, especially in humid climates such as the bathroom or the kitchen sink.

- Store jewelry in an airtight container when not being worn.

- Perspiration, perfume, & lotion can cause tarnish & buildup, so keep skin & jewelry clean & dry. Remove jewelry before using lotion & perfume, & make sure skin is dry before putting your jewelry on. This helps prevent buildup on your pieces & maintains their shine & luster.

- Avoid the use of chemicals while wearing your pieces. This includes chlorinated pool water & household chemical cleaners. These things may be damaging to the metal but are confirmed harmful to soft stones like opals and pearls, & materials like leather & wood.

My Favorite Tip For Preventing Tarnish:

Keep and collect the silica desiccant packets you often find in newly purchased handbags, wallets, or shoes, as they are used to absorb moisture in the air. Throw a few into your jewelry box to reduce tarnish when your jewelry is not in use! This won't prevent tarnish forever but I've found that it significantly slows the process.
