Tiny Erica Jewelry

Buyers are raving!

This shop got multiple 5-star reviews in the past 7 days.

Announcement    Tiny Erica Jewelry 2021 Holiday Deadlines:
- the International holiday order deadline is Friday November 6th.
- the US holiday order deadline for made to order items is Tuesday November 30th.
- The shop is closing on Sunday December 12th at 10pm and will reopen on Monday January 3, 2022.
- My custom books are closed for the remainder of 2021 and I'm now booking custom work with mid-to-late January 2022 start dates.

Right now mail carriers are experiencing higher shipment volumes than usual which may result in delivery delays, and they're anticipating another big spike in shipment volumes in December. By ordering after the above holiday order cutoff dates, you are acknowledging that your estimated delivery times are not guaranteed. I recommend upgrading your order's shipping method at checkout if you're placing a holiday order after November 30th!

Unfortunately once a package leaves my hands I have no control over delivery timelines. We’re all doing the best we can with what we have, so thank you for your understanding and kindness!

Lastly, I want to take a second to thank you for all of your support this year! I've been totally floored by all of your online orders, custom requests, collaborations, and kindness, and I’m so grateful for you. I feel like nothing I write here will properly capture the depth of my gratitude so I’ll just begin by saying thank you. Thank you for choosing Tiny Erica. Thank you for trusting me with your orders and special custom projects. Thank you for your support. You bring so much joy and light to my studio, and it's my hope that my work has done the same for you.

With gratitude,
Erica

Tiny Erica Jewelry empowers your creativity and style with a unique collection that’s designed on paper, crafted by hand, and built to last.

Hello, and thanks for visiting Tiny Erica Jewelry. Each piece of jewelry you see within my collection is carefully and lovingly designed on paper, crafted by hand, and made to last utilizing high quality and ethically sourced sterling silver, 14k gold, and gemstones. Express and empower your unique creativity and style with your favorite pieces from the line.

T H E W O R K

From a gratifying process of play and exploration, the earliest iteration of Tiny Erica Jewelry was born in 2012 as a simple examination of aesthetics and design principles that were of great interest to me after obtaining my BFA in 2009. Over time the collection metamorphosed into something refined and playful, combining sleek clean lines with just the right amount of rough-and-tumbled texture to create a collection of jewelry that is minimal, durable, versatile, and incredibly expressive and fun to wear.

The design principles utilized in my work are informed by my educational background in graphic design as well as my current surroundings and experiences: shapes and textures found in nature are reduced to simple linear patterns and lightweight architectural structures in the heirloom-quality pieces in the collection.

I do my best to ensure that the work is created using best practices, ethically sourcing and recycling as much material as possible. I often melt down my scraps of silver and gold to reuse them, and my tools, stones, and any additional materials are sourced from fair and sustainable companies that I trust.

T H E A R T I S T

For me personally, metalsmithing has always been an incredibly gratifying process of play and exploration: the ideas that strike at a moment's notice (or after many long hours of brainstorming), the numerous sketches made to work out the logistics of constructing a piece, carefully choosing materials that work best with each design, and finally working with my own two hands to build the work -- forging, soldering, shaping, filing, sanding, polishing, and stone setting. It's challenging and cathartic, and with each new piece of jewelry that I create I learn something new about both the process and myself.

Shortly after obtaining my BFA in 2009 with dual degrees in graphic design and metalsmithing I obtained my first job in the jewelry industry where I worked as the bench jeweler for a mom and pop jewelry store in my hometown fixing and repairing heirloom pieces as well as designing one of a kind items for both the shop and our clientele. Later I worked for several years as a metalsmith for a production company in my current city, Cleveland, OH. All the while I dreamt of starting my own small business, so in August 2016 I made the decision to dedicate myself fully to Tiny Erica Jewelry and left my full time job to pursue what I love.

In addition to hand fabricating my own production line I also love collaborating with clients and customers to create beautiful one-of-a-kind heirlooms that will be loved and cherished for generations to come.

Thank you for visiting the shop today. Please keep in touch, as I would love to work with you.

Please carefully read listing descriptions before making a purchase, as they include detailed measurements and additional information about each piece of jewelry in the shop, including production times. I also strongly recommend knowing your ring size before completing a ring purchase. If you are unsure of your ring size, my best recommendation is popping over to a local jewelry store, as most establishments will size you for free! This is the most accurate and reliable way to determine your ring size and ensure a proper fit. Alternatively, I now offer adjustable plastic sizers in my shop (Follow this link to purchase: https://www.etsy.com/listing/554801227/reusable-plastic-finger-sizing-gauge-for?ref=shop_home_active_1).

If you need any assistance or have questions regarding pieces in the shop, personalizations, or your very own one of a kind custom piece, please reach out here on Etsy or via email; I'd love to collaborate with you!

Returns and exchange details
▪️ Custom Orders (pieces designed and hand fabricated specifically for you) are non-refundable, non-returnable, and ineligible for exchange due to the very specific and personalized nature of the custom-made piece.

▪️ Made To Order items may differ slightly from original images in a listing due to the nuanced nature of the materials being used, especially the natural subtleties and anomalies present in the stones as well as any textures that are hand-applied to the metals.

▪️ All items being returned or exchanged must be returned in their original unworn condition in their original packaging to prevent damage in transit. Additionally, do not use letter envelopes to mail pieces of jewelry; as damage due to negligence is not covered under warranty or refund policies. I recommend using a padded bubble mailer or small corrugated cardboard box to protect your jewelry while in transit.

▪️ Items that have been damaged or altered in any way do not qualify for refund, return, or exchange.

▪️ Sale Items are non-refundable and non-returnable.

▪️ HOLIDAY SHIPPING DEADLINES: Each year toward the end of October I share my holiday order cutoff dates to my shop's Announcements section. Additional policies and FAQs
🔹🔹DETAILED CUSTOM ORDER POLICIES 🔹🔹
Custom orders are non-returnable and non-refundable due to their specific and personalized nature. Please note that if your custom request has no relation to the type of work I make, I may decline.

CUSTOM TIMELINES
Custom orders generally take a MINIMUM of 6 weeks and up to 12 weeks to build, so please plan accordingly.

CUSTOM PRICING is determined by design complexity, current metal market values, the time and number of revisions needed for the design process, & labor costs:
▪️ Custom sterling silver builds are accepted on a case-by-case basis and begin at $250.
▪️ Custom gold builds begin at $650+. Engagement rings typically begin at $1200+ and generally fall in the generous ballpark of $1800-4500[+].
▪️ Tiny Erica Jewelry offers flexible payment plans for custom clients! Please reach out to discuss installment options for your custom-made piece, and note that pieces MUST be completely paid for before they can be shipped or collected.

🔹🔹WARRANTY OF CRAFTSMANSHIP 🔹🔹
Tiny Erica Jewelry is not responsible for damages caused by expected everyday wear and tear, misuse, or accidents, nor is Tiny Erica Jewelry responsible for alterations or repairs made by other parties. Pieces that have been altered or treated in any way by another party forfeit their warranty.

The following services are offered under the warranty of craftsmanship:
▪️ Complimentary prong check for the lifetime of the piece.
▪️ Six month complimentary clasp repair for necklace chains is offered for Ready to Ship, Made to Order, and Custom pieces.
▪️ Repairs due to craftsmanship or material defects in Custom pieces are covered up to one year from the date of receipt, excluding diamond and gemstone replacement.
▪️ One complimentary resizing of custom made ring designs is offered within one year of receipt. After the first resizing/first year, prices may vary depending on the nature of the project and will be discussed and evaluated on a case by case basis. Please be mindful that not all designs can be resized, but this will be cautioned and discussed in detail at the time of the initial custom consultation.
▪️ These services are non transferable and intended only for the original client or the original recipient of the piece.

Additionally, custom pieces are non-refundable and non returnable due to their specific and personalized nature. In the even that a client wishes for a completed custom piece to be reworked in some way, the client will be billed accordingly for the additional labor and resources required to alter the design.

🔹🔹WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF ORDERING A CUSTOM MADE PIECE OF JEWELRY? 🔹🔹
Every custom piece typically begins with a consultation (either in person, virtually, or via email) to discuss the scope of the project, including:
▪️ The project's budget
▪️ Any need-by dates you may have
▪️ The occasion
▪️ The recipient
▪️ The recipient's style and design tastes: do you/they prefer big, bold design details, or are your/their tastes more minimal, for instance?
▪️ Any inspirations you have for the piece
▪️ Any reference materials or inspiration photos/sketches you'd like to share
▪️ Your preferred materials
▪️ Detailed information regarding my current lead times

If after the consultation we both feel good about moving forward with the project, a non refundable deposit of $100 is required to begin the design process. I'll request your zip code to calculate any applicable sales tax and shipping costs, and your email to invoice for the deposit. This deposit reserves time for your project on my custom calendar and covers the first round of design sketches and up to two rounds of revisions. Moving forward, any subsequent revisions requested beyond the first two rounds will require an additional payment of $50 per round of revisions.

The design process can be as collaborative as you’d like and usually requires the most time to complete (but it's also the most fun), typically taking anywhere from 3-6 weeks to navigate depending on the nature of the project. The first round of sketches will typically include 3-5 different ideas with ballpark pricing that is subject to change based on the number of revisions requested and the final design’s specifications. Once the final design specs are agreed upon a final price will be given and arrangements will be made for payment. After at least 50% of the total has been paid, any needed materials will be sourced (which takes anywhere from 2-3 weeks) and the build will begin (approximately 2-3 weeks)! Once the build is finished and completely paid for, arrangements will be made for a pickup or shipment! In light of current events local pickup is currently unavailable and all custom orders will be shipped upon completion. The same is also true of in-person consultations at this time.

If you're interested in one-of-a-kind custom work please reach out. I'd love to work with you!

Do you accept custom jewelry requests and how do we get started on a custom design?

Yes, I love collaborating with clients on custom pieces! Please reach out here on Etsy or via email at hello@tinyerica.com with your custom requests; I typically reply to inquiries within 3-4 business days.

In your initial message it's helpful to include:
▪️ Who is the intended recipient of the piece?
▪️ The occasion
▪️ Your budget
▪️ Any need-by dates you may have
▪️ Any inspo photos or design ideas you have
▪️ Your preferred materials

Custom work averages 6-12 weeks to complete. Silver pieces are accepted on a case-by-case basis; gold builds begin at $650 & work up from there. For detailed information about what the custom process looks like please see the 🔹🔹CUSTOM ORDER POLICIES🔹🔹 section under "Additional Policies and FAQs" above

How are custom jewelry designs priced?

Pricing is determined by design complexity, material costs, current metal markets, time, & labor.

Gold builds begin at $650+ for smaller items like dainty charms or stud earrings. Simple wedding band designs may begin around $650+. Engagement rings typically start at $1200+ and generally fall in the range of $1800-4500[+].

Sterling silver pieces are assessed & accepted on a case-by-case basis and begin at $250+.

These numbers are very general jumping off points, so if you have a specific idea for a custom piece please reach out! I'm more than happy to chat with you & provide detailed insight for your one of a kind design concept.

Additionally, I also offer payment plans & flexible timelines to keep this process simple & approachable.

Can you reuse a customer's heirloom stones or gold in a custom build, and does it save on costs to reuse a customer's material?

Reusing heirloom material is done on a case by case basis.

It's possible to reuse stones graded 8 or above on the Mohs scale, however your specific stone's risks/eligibility will be assessed during our consultation. Tiny Erica Jewelry is not liable for the risks involved in extracting a stone from its original setting & re-setting it in a new piece.

At this time yellow gold can be repurposed, also only on a case by case basis.

The labor needed to prepare an heirloom stone or gold for reuse may cost as much as/greater than new material, but repurposing a special heirloom can be priceless to a client!

Learn more about Mohs here:
https://4cs.gia.edu/en-us/blog/mohs-scale
https://www.gemsociety.org/article/select-gems-ordered-mohs-hardness

What materials are used to make your jewelry?

Pieces in the shop are made using 14k yellow gold, 14k white gold, and sterling silver. Look to product descriptions to find more specific and detailed information about individual pieces in the collection, such as precious metal type, type of stones, measurements, sizing, etc.

For Custom designs, I'm also able to work with 18k and 10k white and yellow gold.

I do not work with platinum, copper, brass, bronze, or nickel at this time.

For folks with nickel sensitivities: sterling silver and yellow gold are generally nickel free. White gold does contain trace amounts of nickel.

Can you work on custom pieces remotely with folks outside of Cleveland?

Absolutely! I have 12 years of experience working remotely with folks to design beautiful one-of-a-kind custom pieces for their loved ones and would be thrilled to work with you! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have an idea for a special custom piece and we can schedule a safe and socially distant video chat, phone call, or we can discuss your ideas over email if you prefer.

Please note that at this time ALL consultations, including local consultations, are being conducted remotely.

Can you repair my broken jewelry?

I only offer jewelry repair services for Tiny Erica Jewelry pieces.

Jewelry cleaning tips:

Commercial jewelry cleaners are often too harsh for use on softer stones like pearls & opals, so instead I recommend using a simple polishing cloth specially made for jewelry (like the one included with your Tiny Erica Jewelry order), or even warm soapy water with a soft wash cloth for general upkeep of your pieces.

For a deeper clean on pieces with harder stones using household products, mix 1 tsp water, 1 tsp baking soda, & a few drops of liquid dish soap into a paste. Use a soft bristled toothbrush to gently scrub your jewelry with the paste, then rinse with water & repeat as needed. Dry your piece thoroughly with a soft clean towel to prevent future tarnish.

Tips For Tarnish Prevention:

- Avoid storing jewelry in the open air, especially in humid climates such as in the bathroom or on the kitchen sink. Instead, store your jewelry in a dry, airtight container.

- Remove jewelry before using lotion, cosmetics, or perfume & be sure your skin is dry before putting your jewelry on. This helps prevent buildup on your pieces & maintains their luster.

- Avoid the use of chemicals while wearing your pieces. This includes chlorinated pool water & household chemical cleaners. These chemicals are harmful & damaging to precious metals & soft stones like opals, pearls, and turquoise.

- Store a few silica desiccant packets in your jewelry box, as they absorb moisture in the air & may slow the process of tarnish on your silver pieces!
