Welcome to Tiny Stars Studio! A place where I can share my MTG alters with you!
Tiny Stars Studio was born of the marriage of a left-brained, mtg-playing boy to a right-brained, compulsively creative girl.
But first things first.
I must confess, I have never played a single game of MTG in my entire life.
I have, however, hosted countless MTG nights around my kitchen table. I have endured many pre-release pre-parties, and have consistently, dutifully ensured a steady supply of pita chips, hummus and beer....so hey! That has to count for something, right?
I like to dabble with many different artistic mediums, but particularly enjoy working with acrylic paints to bring my MTG creations to life. I love mixing and matching colors, and focus on primarily creating extended alters.
I am an informal art history student and casual naturalist who loves stargazing, marine biology, gardening and snuggling up on the couch to watch some Friends or play some Destiny. Professionally speaking, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Texas State University. I am also an avid reader, and especially admire the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and Anthony Bourdain.
Remember that left-brained science guy I mentioned earlier? That's my husband, Nick, and he's the best. He provides all the magicky know-how and encouragement which allows Tiny Stars Studio to exist.
I also have three always supportive and ever-loyal studio companions; Rajah, and Naga and Bungie. Our Bengal, Rajah is not only a best friend but also acts as my chief artistic assistant, devoted companion and most enthusiastic fan. He specializes in knocking things off of other things. His canine brother, Naga, is a 110 pound Turkish Akbash who is my constant big-white-shadow and who can always be counted upon to help keep my feet warm and provide plenty of positive encouragement. His favorite place in the studio is at the window where he can keep an eye on the birds that frequent our feeder near by. Speaking of birds, when I am working on my artwork, Bungie - our Turquoise Conure - can usually be found hanging out on my shoulder. He loves jamming out to music and munching on sunflower seeds. Words can not describe the joy my little family brings me!
I hope you find just what you're looking for in my little shop!
