Alie's Fight
This shop was previously known as AliesHope (named for my cat Alie) and I sold knitted items to help pay for her medical bills.-view story below- I still enjoy knitting very much, but with my job I have had the opportunity to learn to screen print and rather than open a separate shop, I am taking this one and converting it. The new name is ToastedGoldfish and will feature a range of fandom and slogan prints on t-shirts and tote bags. Custom orders will also be available. Down the line I may include a few knitted products, but the majority will now be shirts and bags. So thank you to those who helped support me in the past, it meant so very much to me. To everyone finding me for the first time, Welcome =) and thank you for taking an interest in my shop!!

---------
I originally learned to knit and opened this shop to help offset treatment costs for my cat Alie, who was diagnosed with multifocal mammary ductular adenocarcinomas, which is breast cancer, in 2013. She has since undergone three surgeries and two rounds of chemo. It is early 2015 and she is about to begin a variation of anecdotal medications as well as chemo again in the near future with the hope of keeping her a vibrant, crazy, sweetheart for as long as possible.
I started my learning process from various videos and online tutorials, running across a mouse toy early on. My kitties seemed to enjoy them and a couple of family and friends requested them and that's is where the idea to sell them was born. I have since modified the basic version of the pattern, mainly trying to make them safer for kitties who like to play with them roughly. But then I did more. I started pushing myself to learn different techniques with knitting and that is why you will find there are ones made using basic intarsia and stranded knitting. Discovering I was semi capable of doing that, I have since started working on other items both for pets and for people.
So thank you for taking the time to read about how I started this shop and for those who have bought from me, for giving me the encouragement to continue on with my learning and creations.
Thank you!!
Jessica and Alie xx
