About Me
I am a work at home mom to 3 kids - 6, 3, and 1. I found cloth diapers when my second child was potty trained but kept having accidents at night. After a few dry nights in diapers, I would put him in his underwear. Of course, the sheets would be wet in the morning. I just got so frustrated with throwing away clean diapers and washing dirty sheets several times a week that I started turning to cloth diapers. It was the perfect solution!
Little did I know how far cloth diapers have come along. I was fully expecting to just buy a sheet of cloth and some diaper pins since I was only going to use them at night. A simple Google search of ‘cloth diapers’ eventually turned into an obsession. I was shocked at how many different kinds there were. I mean, how many ways can a piece of fabric contain poo? I immediately wanted one of the fancier diapers. I kept going back to the the cute prints and finally convinced myself and that my son “needed” it.
The diaper worked. It worked so well that I wanted to be a part of it. I started looking at fabrics and wondering how it would look turned into a diaper. So I bought myself a sewing machine, a pattern, and became best friends with youtube. The first thing I ever sewed was a diaper. And it was absolutely horrific. But I had so much fun that I was determined to make it work. It took a few months for me to finally produce something “cute” but by then, my son was done with diapers. And I was torn between being happy for him and being devastated because I no longer had a bum to diaper. I had finally perfected my pattern and I couldn’t use it anymore.
So I sold it. My first Etsy sale felt like I had won the Olympic gold. Could I actually be good enough to produce something that could be exchanged for money? More so, could my diapers be good enough for other people to love? After the reading my first review, Toosha’s was born and has been growing ever since. I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful cloth diapering community and so thankful for my customer base. I wouldn’t be able to do something that I love so much without your wonderful support.
Thank you!
