Frequently asked questions

Returns

A 15% restocking fee applies to any return. Special orders (base finishes switched at customer request) cannot be returned.

Need only a single finial?

Use coupon code SINGLEFROMPAIR at checkout to discount the listing by 50% and you will receive one finial from the pair. Participating listings only.

Why does my finial swivel?

Most designs are mounted on a swiveling base. The prongs/base are affixed with jeweler's glue, and the underside of the prongs/base are attached the bottom part of the hardware with a screw. They are designed by the manufacturer to swivel in order prevent the user from overtightening the attached decorative element. If you were to twist the finial onto the lamp by holding the decorative element, and it did not swivel, your finial would easily break apart. All lamp finials with prongs are designed with the ability to swivel so that once you've grasped the bottom part of the hardware to attach it onto your lamp, you can pivot the decorative element to face any direction without loosening the finial's tightness on your lamp & shade.

Why doesn't my finial swivel?

Some designs don't move on their base. Either the hardware element is recessed, or the swivel mechanism doesn't function. When using a finial without a swiveling base, it is important to take care to grasp the finial by its metal base when tightening or loosening it. Never grab your finial by its decorative element.

My finial broke or is stuck on my lamp...now what?

Please get in touch with me by Etsy messages. I can help! If you overtighten your finial, it will usually unscrew when you rotate the shade counterclockwise. Don't use a wrench or other hand tools to grasp your finial!

Do you sell curtain rod finials?

TopFinials are designed to display and secure a shade on top of your lamp. There are too many different hardware sizes to offer curtain finials/end caps.
