My family, gardening, candles. These are a few of my favorite things!
Hello, I'm Jules Thanks for visiting my shop. My items are a combination of something I love, and something my husband loves... candles and beer! I've always LOVED scented candles. They always seem to make me feel better. I was constantly buying as many as possible. Last spring, when I realized we'd be stuck home for awhile, I started watching youtube videos about candle making and decided to give it a try. I eventually ran out of containers to make candles in. I then became inspired by my husband and brother-in-law are who are beer snobs. There is such beautiful artwork and unique design on many craft beer cans and it seemed to be the perfect container for a candle.
I try to always use recyclable materials whenever possible. I've been fortunate to have friends and neighbors offer me their empty recyclable cans. I also re-use the plastic can carriers/tops that come on most craft beer packs these days. I try to make sure my packaging materials, glass jars, and other shop supplies come from recycled glass, plastic or paper as well.
Although I utilize recyclable materials as much as possible, I do not skimp on candle materials. I use golden soy wax 464 in all of my candles. It is a clean burning candle, unlike a paraffin you would purchase at a store. Unfortunately, soy wax doesn't have the same fragrance hold, which is why I only use premium fragrance oils. The fragrance oil is the most expensive part of the candle. In addition, I try to use the best possible burning wicks- this has been a trial and error for me. I love the look and crackle of wood wicks but haven't yet found the perfect one that will stay lit.
Please bear with me as I learn the tricks of Etsy and practice my candle making skills. My candles are sometimes imperfect, but will always smell good. Sometimes, you might find an extra candle in your order. I have some imperfect candles that I like to throw in customer shipments as a thank you.
When I am not making candles, I am an avid vegetable gardener and have harvested thousands of seeds from different heirloom vegetables. I am in the process of packing and photographing them to eventually list in the shop as well, or maybe start a second garden shop. I have some beautiful soap scrub bars that I will be listing in February 2021. They are perfect for anyone who gardens or landscapes or just wants to exfoliate!
Thank you for viewing my Etsy shop! Feel free to message me at any time if you have any questions!
Thank you!
