Home - a sanctuary, are retreat and a safe haven
As a young woman, I struggled to own a home, so I rented for a large portion of my life. Because for so long I didn't own my own home, I was very limited to what I could do with it, to make it feel like a space that reflected my own personal style, but also for it to truly feel like my own personal sanctuary for me and my family.
It forced me to be very creative, and styling became the way I could achieve any sense of personality, and design style. Interestingly enough, people often complimented how lovely my home was (even though I knew there were so many things I would change if I only owned the house), but I was grateful none-the-less for the kind words, it helped me to feel good about how I had created a space that others could enjoy, simply by my choice of styling my home.
Styling is everything - it pulls the entire design scheme together and brings in colour, texture, dimension, scale, lifestyle elements and more than that, styling often is a story teller.
Treasures, are often the very thing that I often see in my clients home, where they tell a story. It might be where they found it, who gifted to them, or something handmade from a loved one. People hold on to treasures, because they hold so much meaning and personal value.
My true wish is that you find a treasure, or inspiration in my shop, and that it is something that adds to your homes story.
