I've always been a creative person with a passion for Art. So it was quite natural for me to study design, and in particular illustration and communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. I never wanted anything other than a career where I could work artistically and creatively. So when I was at University, my first two years were devoted to Art and Art History. Creativity is therefore at the heart of all my activities, including professional ones in the design sector. I am also an author of children's books, illustration being a medium that fascinates and inspires me in my daily life.
ART IS A POWERFUL COMMUNICATION TOOL
The environment and its protection are my favorite themes for my artistic statement. The fragility of our planet, and in particular that of the oceans, is the main issue that I wish to highlight through my art. Water and nature are fundamental elements in my artwork. Beyond arousing emotions, I want to make the viewer feel the need to act and commit to protecting the planet. The subject matters of the ocean and our planet are inexhaustible sources of inspiration for me and, as an artist working for the protection of our oceans and our planet, I want my message to spread around the world.
As an illustrator and author, I was inspired to write "Diamonds, Hearts & Sea Stars!" and "123 Who's Cleaning the Sea?" because of her concerns for our environment. I'm passionate about fighting climate change, protecting nature and keeping the oceans free from plastic and other pollutants. Our future depends on our actions today.
Each year I support ocean protection organizations either with donations or with graphic design support (social media/website/illustrations). So by supporting me you help me to support others. Together we can protect our oceans.
