Thank you for visiting my Etsy shop, where I sell my self striping sock yarns. Trailing Clouds is very much a cottage industry; I work from my home in the Malvern Hills, producing small batches in colour schemes that delight and inspire me.

I am so proud of and fascinated by Britain's wool heritage that I only use British bases; all the yarns listed here use superwash Blue Faced Leicester wool blended with nylon, creating a yarn that is soft and lustrous, while hard wearing and durable.

The width of stripe produced will vary from knitter to knitter, but you can expect approximately six rows of each colour. The batches I dye are small, so due to the nature of hand dyeing there will be variation in the shades produced within the same colour way.

My sock yarns are super wash, so they can be machine washed at low temperatures on a wool cycle. My own preference however is to gently launder all wool by hand in a wash such as Soak or Eucalan, blotting excess water with a towel, and allowing your knitting to air dry.
