Work At Home Mom & Loving It
I'm a work at home mom (WAHM) who absolutely loves to create personalized things! My husband and I are parents to five children, Logan 2, Reese 8, Addison 8, Zach 10 and our oldest daughter Lilly who is 13! My husband had been working two jobs for almost two years so I was able to stay at home with our now 10 year old son Zachary and of course care for our other children that we were blessed with.
Zach was born in 2010 with a rare chromosome disorder called 1q43-44 Deletion. I had to leave my job as an X~ray tech to care for him and all of his therapy! ;( We were told our sweet boy would probably never walk or talk, along with many other delays that were caused by his genetic disorder! We struggled for a while and I could see it wearing on my husband, so I knew I was going to have to find something to do at home to make extra money or go back to work!
In January of 2013 I talked my husband into getting me a $200 single needle brother machine and began to play around with it! I have to say some of the things I made when I first started were not pretty at all!! I had never touched a sewing machine much less an embroidery machine and I literally taught my self everything! I watched you tube video, I was reading blogs and I'm so thankful for all those awesome women that blog and post pictorials!! They are Just AWESOME! :) Within a few months I had started making a little extra money selling my creations to family, church family and close friends! Little did I know how much of a blessing it would be to my family!
In April of 2013 I made the big purchase and bought a 6 needle Brother Embroidery Machine!! YAY! I was able to make enough money for my husband to quit his second job!! I also loved the fact that I got to make adorable things for my babies!! Today I have not one but two 6 needle Brother Embroidery Machines and work right at home in my office located in our basement!! :) It has been such a blessing and I'm so happy to be making creations and sending them all over the US!!! ;) I don't consider it a job because I love what I do!! I have been to embroidery conferences, EAC being one of my favorites. I also teach classes at our local brother dealer/quilting shop in my spare time with embroidery!
Since getting into embroidery and making adorable little shirts I had so many request for ruffle pants, short and skirts to match the shirts.....Who doesn't like matching outfits, right? I soon expanded into sewing and purchased a very nice Brother Project Runway Sewing Machine and a Babylock Imagine Serger! I practiced making pants and skirts for my three girls, took a few classes and soon got the hang of it! Now I offer those in my shop to! :)
That's basically The story of how my LIFE of embroidery/sewing adventure started! I'm looking so forward to sharing all of this with my girls when they get older as a family business! My 12 year daughter Lilly already loves to help bag orders and press buttons o the machine!! ;) Please feel free to look around my shop or Visit my FB Facebook.com/trimblesthreads I look forward to creating something special for you! ~Liz
