Taylor & Ben met while working in a bookstore in 2006. During downtime they would often discuss ideas and creative endeavors that they would like to embark on. It wasn't until a few years later that they decided to team up and create a small design studio called Design it Together.

Out of a very small (hot) studio upstairs from the kiln room of a pottery studio they would work together design logos, websites and marketing collateral for local businesses. In the background they were simultaneously creating graphics for an emerging t shirt line that Ben had started a couple years before. The desire to turn some of these designs into posters drove they guys to purchase some very basic screen printing equipment.

DIT started to gain a small following from selling their designs in local shops and craft fairs in Upstate NY, Vermont and Massachusetts. It was then in June 2011 that they decided to open a shop of their own in a tiny vacant storefront in Downtown Troy, NY. The idea was to have space to work on their creative projects, but also have some room on the front of the shop to sell some of the products they were making.

Shortly after, we chose to stop taking on client work and focus solely on growing our line of products. We changed our name to Troy Cloth & Paper because, well, we mainly print on cloth & paper - and we love our city!

It is now 3 years later and we are now in a larger space with more equipment and more designs. We have a growing line of greeting cards which we sell to many independent retailers in the area, a line of frame able art print and clothing for kids and adults. We've also begun printing more fun stuff such as hand printed wrapping paper & Troy , NY themed Koozies with plans for more items soon.
