True Beauty Project Shop - Creating Dolls You'd Be Proud To Share With Your Children!

Hi there,

Welcome to TrueBeautyProject. This shop began as a project with my two children, inspired by second-hand doll transformations. We were captivated by the beauty and soul reborn in each doll during the repainting process. It is truly delightful watching them fall in love with each doll I make-under.

Each True Beauty Project doll takes about 3 -5 hours of craftsmanship. The make-under begins with a thorough washing, hair conditioning and detangling. Next, the factory makeup is removed and a fresh face is painted on by hand. Great care is given to balance the beauty of natural imperfections with detail and artistry. The doll is finished with hairstyling and age-appropriate clothing. The end result is a more natural, one-of-a-kind, youthful appearance.

For every three dolls purchased through my shop, my children and I will donate another "made-under" doll to a family shelter or children's hospital in the Austin, TX area. Your purchase will help us reach our goal of donating 20 dolls this year!

The True Beauty Project

First step of the process: remove the factory makeup.
Step two: wash hair out any previous-life gunk.
Step three: recondition the doll's hair by boiling the hair to straighten or curl it. Yes, I boil it! :)
Step 4: Repaint a new, sweet face by hand and personalize a new outfit.

Each True Beauty Project doll begins with a thorough washing, hair conditioning, and possibly a hair trim. Next the face is wiped clean and bare, then repainted by hand. The doll is finished with hairstyling and a change of clothing to create an entirely new persona. My intent is for each to gain a younger, more natural, one-of-a-kind appearance.
