One day it hit me: telling people gets you nowhere, but inspiring them to ask? Therein lies the power.
My TrueColors journey began in late 2014 when I made myself a pair with the Palestinian flag across the whole shoe. I was working in a restaurant that required us to wear "canvas-style shoes" to jive with their hippie vibe, and I wanted to outwardly represent my involvement with the Palestinian cause.
A year later, I had received many compliments as well as inquiries as to where I had bought them, and my entrepreneurial spirit was kindled. A vast collection of TOMS (remnants from my severe shopaholic days) provided the stock for initial designs that were closest to my heart, and friends an family showed their support by ordering their own custom designs.
New and especially custom designs are my favorite! As of October 2021, I have relocated to Panama, endeavoring to learn the principles of permaculture in practice. In an attempt to build a sustainable lifestyle, we trade our work for food, lodging, and more importantly, KNOWLEDGE, but petrol isn't free and unfortunately we rely on that to get us from place to place. I have learned to navigate the DHL shipping system in Panama (which is the only one I consider reliable) and can happily say I can continue the TrueColors project from the tropics! **Please inquire via private message for shipping costs to your location.**
Feel free to ask questions, and keep an eye out for Panama-inspired designs to come in the near future! Also, please check out my IG (@prism.seed) where I share glimpses of what we are doing in our new life!
