Preserving History, Somewhere in Time ~ Antique Jewelry & Accessories in All Colors of the Rainbow
Hello and Welcome!
I've always loved unique jewelry and accessories in a rainbow of colors, textures and styles. My personal jewelry and accessories have always been a part of who I am and, represent my individual personality. Quite often, I choose my jewerly and accessories and then, decide what I'm wearing. I have honestly shopped for outfits to match my jewelry :-) I receive many compliments on my jewelry, accessories and the combination of colors with my outfits :-)
I have a few pieces that are 'fine' gems, precious, and semi-precious stones but, I am primarily attracted to unique, one of a kind items. I lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay area for 10 years and purchased a multitude of jewelry from local artisans in small shops, from those displaying their unique items at Union Square as well as from area fairs, festivals, etc. Many of my treasures from the "Streets of San Francisco" and surrounding areas are now Vintage :-)
Time went by and God blessed me with three precious children. I returned to Maine to be closer to my family and live a less hectic lifestyle. While I've worked as a General Corporate Business Manager for 22+ years, I found I could no longer be "Wonder Woman" and take care of three children when I became a single Mom.
My favorite Aunt re-introduced me to garage and yard sales, church bazaars and more in Maine. I was attracted to unique antique and vintage costume jewelry and soon found my passion was for late 1800's to Mid Century. I especially love individually hand carved Bakelite and Plastics; Bold, Colorful Mid Century Beads and Rhinestones; and, of course, in all the colors of the rainbow. I look at these wonderful pieces and am taken by the detail and creativity of each piece. While some hand carved items may be of the same style or design, no two are exactly alike. It was truly an artist that created each of these amazing pieces, lovingly hand carving them. To me, each lovely jewelry item preserves a piece of history, somewhere in time.
I now know that my position in the Corporate Business world was not "who" I wanted to be in life. I thank God that I was able to take some time to be with my children, despite the difficulties of being a single Mom. I began the shops as a hobby to support my collection and pay a few bills, but have discovered that I alone cannot serve it well enough to make a full living. I am looking into several options for new careers with a focus on organizations that help or support people in the community.
My shops will continue as my love and passion remain and they have become a very important part of who I am and will always be. My cherished, special vintage items are displayed in my large, lighted china cabinet - (whoops, no dishes/china) LOL - and much of my home decor is from times long ago but fondly remembered :-)
Thank you for stopping by and please convo me with any questions. I proudly offer an Unconditional Satisfaction Guarantee on All items in the shops, for Any reason. If you are not happy, I am not happy. Here's to Preserving History, Somewhere in Time!
Cheers, Laura
