Curious and charming crochet hooks
Twiddle Clack is a shop in which knitters and crocheters can find charming, high-quality tools that are not offered anywhere else. There are a variety of colors and sizes to meet the needs or preferences of creators and their projects.
I am always coming up with new designs to delight those who are interested in a touch of something more in their tools. Certain designs are released in batches or are available for pre-order.
Below is the story of how Twiddle Clack came into existence:
After high school, I was confused and insecure about what I should do with my life. I had met the expectations of my parents by graduating and attending college, and I was unsure about taking whichever steps needed to successfully get through life.
While in college, I taught myself how to crochet and immediately became obsessed. I always had a project going on and would carry it with me in my purse whether or not I actually had time to work on said project. I would bring it to work, to school, the grocery store, the nail salon… You name a place, I probably brought a hook and a project there with me.
It just made me feel good to have my crochet equipment with me.
Over time I explored the incredible world of arts and crafts, learned basic to advanced sewing, and was taught lab work on how to make prosthetics for film and television. I learned about different materials, chemicals, and application techniques which I used in various projects that I would try to turn into a “career” but would give up on for one reason or another. My parents were patient with me and always encouraged me to explore and expand my creative abilities.
My mother always told me that I was hit twice with the powderpuff of creativity and would always compliment my determination whenever I had some project going on that I was excited about, regardless of how silly it was. After I realize the silliness of a project and give up on it, she would tell me that she was proud of the love and attention to detail I always had with my projects. She always makes me feel good about having at least tried something new.
My father told me "When you go out and do everything possible, you are always learning something. When you learn something new, you are building up your library of knowledge. The opportunity to combine your knowledge with the skills and creativity you have will come, and then you will be able to do what you love for the rest of your life. It will just click together.”
One day my mother surprised me by taking me to a yarn shop where we took a knitting lesson. I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge on knitting so I shopped around for knitting needles. I figured I would spoil myself and get some beautiful needles that were unique and not seen in stores. I couldn’t find anything I liked and figured that, with my knowledge, I could just make my own….
Thats when it hit me.
Lo and behold, Twiddle Clack was created.
It combines my desire to create using various materials and techniques, my passion for crochet and knitting, and my obsession for perfection.
I hope you love my work as much as I loved making it with you, a creator, in mind.
