The Puddingstone Path
A number of years ago, Jeff (human) began using his love of rocks and creative abilities to begin crafting items and supplies that he began selling on Etsy. Over the years, the focus of UniqueTerrarium shifted somewhat from terrariums and supplies to rocks and related creations. Jeff's slight obsession with pudding stones and other conglomerates may or may not have fueled this transition. After a number of challenges slowed the shop down a bit in its early days, UniqueTerrarium has begun offering several listings again in recent years and continues to have new stones, creations and treasures added to its pages.
In 2018, after Mandy (human) joined the team, the pair and their wild tribe of rescue critters moved onto Strawberry Field Sanctuary where the rock collection piles grew and more animals in need were able to join the family. The shop's inventory and supplies now had a space where they could be sorted, organized and used in creative crafting.
In early 2022, Jeff and Mandy launched a sister shop called TheMIttenMine, a Michigan focused rock shop where treasures found in the Great Lakes State could be offered for sale to collectors around the country. As its name suggests, this second shop boasts listings of Petoskey stones, pudding stones, banded iron beauties and other specimen found in the mitten.
In the end, the UniqueTerrarium team has a goal of sharing the beauty and wonder of rocks with other enthusiasts long into the future, continuing to collect and create using what nature provides, offering quality and friendly customer service, and funding the incredibly special flock of unique, amazing creatures who live on our sanctuary (and those that will join us in the future).
