Reuse, repurpose and lastly recycle!

Here at Upcyclehero I love to find and buy /vintage items. Finding these new homes by selling them in my shop means they will hopefully have a much longer useful life.

Some of these items no longer have much use in there current form so I try to upcycle or repurpose these so they can become more useful or meaningful again.

Recycling is a great idea but it does mean all the energy that went into creating the object is lost forever. I would love if more people would take a second to think how they might reuse an object before putting it in the recycle bin.

I live in the Netherlands. My house is about 10 minutes from Germany in one direction and 10 minutes to Belgium in the other. This gives me access to a wide variety of interesting and unusual materials to create and work with. I am passionate about giving these more value by upcycling or finding them new homes and not less by recycling.

I have another Etsy shop where I sell cufflinks made with LEGO® Bricks www.etsy.com/shop/cufflinkhero I have several "Hero" shops, Cufflinkhero and Upcyclehero. So this is where the 'Severalheros' name comes from. I hope to add a few more 'Hero' shops in the future but this always seems to happen organically so there is no set date for another.

Welcome to Upcyclehero. I like to find old objects and give them new life. I get inspired by the materials I have to hand and am passionate about giving these more value by upcycling or finding them new homes and not less by recycling.

Returns and exchange details
Since everything I sell is handmade/or vintage I may not always be able to offer an exact replacement or an exchange.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase and wish to return it you can do so within 14 days. In the EU you have the right to return purchases within 14 days of them being delivered for a full refund. You can do so for any reason – even if you simply changed your mind. This right does however not extend to cover personalised or goods made to order. Postal return is at your own cost and a tracked mail service is recommended.

Let me know as soon as possible if this is the case. Items returning from outside the EU need to be marked as returned goods zero commercial value. As soon as I receive the items in a satisfactory condition, I will issue a refund to you minus the original shipping costs and any customs duties that may apply.

Items are packaged carefully but if you receive you order damaged or broken please let me know. I will need at least one image of the damaged or the broken item for insurance purposes so a refund or a replacement (if possible) can be issued.

If an incorrect address is provided which leads to a package being lost then a refund will not be issued so please double check it's correct. This and or multiple unsuccessful delivery attempts to a correct address may also lead to the package being classed as abandoned. If it gets returned in a satisfactory condition then a full refund will be issued minus the shipping costs and any additional duties or customs charges.
I accept payment through credit cards, debit cards, Etsy gift cards and Paypal. Orders are only shipped after payment has cleared.
Items usually ship within 1 to 3 working days (or longer as indicated) after payment has cleared through the Dutch postal system. Some smaller items get sent through the German postal system or DHL.

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and to comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 6-10 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.

Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
