The matte black finishing on this item is extremely delicate and poor and can be easily scratched by something as soft as a book cover. Very disappointing. Editing the review to note that the seller contacted me to ask how he can make it right. I said I would touch mine up myself and to make it right he might want to investigate the quality of the paint and check before shipping.

I love iron, and I love vintage inspired decor. Combine those with patience and dedication and you have Urban Trading Post- my idea of the beginning of something cool! My shop is a small part of my home in sunny California.

My current specialty is the cast iron jacks bookends which took over a year of detailed planning to get just right. With the help of Etsy and its amazing marketplace, I now enlist the help of a third party to cast the rough jack shape. They are then hand finished and painted.
