CARIBOU is a new name built on an old craft.
My journey with wood carving began many years ago, inspired by traditional carving and a fascination with the way a simple piece of wood can become something with character, history and soul.
In 2013, in the forests of Moldova, that journey became CARIBOU. What began as a small woodworking workshop grew into years of creating carved pieces for thousands of customers around the world — from the United States and Canada to Europe, Australia and Japan.
Life eventually brought my family and me to Spain, where CARIBOU begins a new chapter.
Carved Tales by CARIBOU is that chapter.
Here I create sculptural wood pieces, architectural corbels and decorative carvings inspired by mythology, maritime history, old European craftsmanship and the characters and stories that have travelled through generations.
Every piece begins as solid wood and is carved in my workshop in Spain. I work primarily with beautiful hardwoods such as Sapele, allowing the natural grain of the wood to become part of the design.
These are not mass-produced decorations. They are made slowly, one piece at a time, with the intention that they remain in a home for many years.
I’m not selling wall art. I’m delivering heirlooms.
