You would never expect that a researcher can start creating handmade jewelry. But it can happen ... it happened to me, Valentina Rivelli, the creator of Wearable Wood, a collection of bracelets, pendants , necklaces and rings crafted out of raw wood.

Sometimes life is strange, it leads you to do things that you would never have imagined to do. I fell in love with painting after being dragged to a workshop while working as a researcher in the Netherlands. So I started to paint self-taught , with no rules or instruments, using my hands instead of brushes, knives, sponges , and anything else I could find at home. Painting has helped me to discover and to explore aspects of my creativity that were unknown to me. It was like a therapy, which led me to clarify things that I wasn't able to express in words.
From here, I started experimenting with different techniques and materials until, one day, I came across some items of raw wood. I was immediately struck , I started to play with it, to create geometries and color combinations, giving life to the collection Wearable Wood.

All Wearable Wood pieces are characterized by modules that repeats and transforms, which vary in shapes and colors, while remaining true to themselves. They are original, elegant and suitable to be worn in any occasion, from the most casual to the most formal. These jewels represent me, they reflect my energy in every inch.

Leave The Netherlands and the research meant leaving a guaranteed work and a good salary. I think that was the price for my freedom.
