I grew up on a small dairy farm in Michigan. I threw hay bales, fed cows, and became proficient with a pitchfork. I also spent many lovely hours poring over the old family treasures tucked away in our attic: my Grandfather's old wire glasses, an antique hump backed trunk, a violin of unknown origin. The barns and outbuildings of our farm held their own secret tales: three small nail kegs, a pile of worn horse tack, and the rather grungy beaded Indian jacket hanging in the small building that had once been the original homestead.

Time passed (as it will). I left home to go to college, married, raised a family, and worked a full time job. Over the years I browsed many antique malls in my leisure time. All of those years of “window shopping”, coupled with a natural curiosity and interest in research, meant that I also acquired some valuable knowledge about antiques and vintage items. .

When I eventually retired from my full time job, Veejay's Vintage seemed to be the natural answer to the question of “what's next?” You will find an eclectic selection of vintage treasures here on my virtual shelves... from kitsch to collectibles to Mid Century Modern.
