The love of nature - as well as my love for nature - and later in 2010 my choice to follow the vegan lifestyle, in combination with the fact I kept being unemployed (not to say that I wasn't a fun of consumption -and work in the big city- anyway), turned my every day life into a totally new dimension. Spending hours in studying and learning about the gifts of Nature and how we can use them for our needs, plus what alternatives I can find for ingredients that come from non-human animals, so that I could veganize any product I used.. meaning to have as a result, as 'innocent' products as possible.. from all points of view.
Through the years and after lots of seminars and experimentation on myself, I ended up with some (as I call them) basic recipes that fill our expectations for our everyday personal care, much more than we could imagine.
Οver the years my life has shown many challenges. Along with the products I kept making for personal use (from toothpaste to house cleaners and detergents, and actually everything I need for my daily life - except soaps) and for my dear friends (human- and non-human-) and supporters, I decided to enter the world of Reflexology, which I studied for 2 years and right after the traditional Chinese medicine. Through these trips I got to know the benefits of Aromatherapy and the importance of introducing therapeutic essential oils in any kind of 'energy healing', but mostly I was motivated to become more aware of myself and of things (I feel) that matter and can be beneficial for all living beings.
For me making homemade products is more or less a ritual and I pay most of my attention and spend most of the time to the preparation, not only to have a calm heart but also a very clean, inspiring, working area. I believe that what we make and share is not just a result of the combination of materials we use, but primarily a gift from our heart.
~ Main life-target: Natural food, natural medicine and natural daily-care products.
~ Main philosophy: Being kind to Nature is being kind to myself.
~ Akira's favorite slogan: Do it yourself or don't do it at all. ;)
The materials I use are organic and mostly unprocessed/raw, food grade and fair-trade, coming from local businesses and small farmers wherever possible.
Regarding the packaging, trying to follow the zero-waste-philosophy and lifestyle, as much as possible, I usually wrap the goods with a reusable material, that was meant to go wasted: some clean plastic stuff for example to use for packaging, with the hope that they will be reused over again.
I hope that my products will meet your needs and bring you one step closer to the majesty of Nature .
