Each flower has its own time to bloom
I’m no longer in my twenties. I’ve already built a career and a family, and I'm now just starting to pursue what I've always wanted to do - ART. While some may see this as a step backwards, I see it as the beginning of a new era. This chapter is about growth, creativity, returning to the joy of making tiny art.
Art has always been with me growing up, I would win art contests when I was in elementary and I just remember how it slowly shaped my identity. However, as a child brought up by her grandparents, in a 3rd world Asian home, being a doctor or a nurse was always pushed.
I never liked being in the spotlight, I was never the person who takes care of everyone, but rather, have always liked the idea of just supporting others, working in the background. Fast forward, I am now in my 30s and that's exactly where I am - a healthcare worker in the US, supporting doctors and I love it.
I cannot forget, however, my love for art. Especially when I had my daughter, slowly but surely, my love for art was rekindled. When she turned 2, I made her pages of busy books from felt, then I moved on to making embroidered bookmarks that I gifted to my friends at church. My daughter is now 4, and life is not as hectic as it was when she was little. I get to have time for myself and do the things I love to do, and sometimes she helps me with it too!
This brings me to creating charms. My daughter and I have been bonding over making clay charms - I let her paint some using her markers, while I paint mine using gel. It is an amazing mommy and toddler activity that also relieves stress.
I did mention that I get to pamper myself more often recently -hence why I chose to make press on nails! I've been gifting press on nails to many friends for a while now and now I want to make it available for everyone else to have!
Each set of press-on nails and every tiny hand-painted charm is created with care, patience, and intention. My themes are - Forestcore, Dark academia, and Filipino (gotta go back tomy roots). I also accept custom orders, though I only do short and medium sized nails. These small pieces are made to bring a little beauty, personality, and delight into everyday life—for friends, family, and you.
