Welcome to Verbena Wave
✨ Hi, I’m Morwenna — though most people call me Mo. I live in Bristol with my husband, our two children, and much-loved ginger cat, Clemie. 🐱
Artist and Surface Pattern Designer behind Verbena Wave. I create hand-drawn, nature-inspired designs that bring a sense of calm, comfort and connection into everyday life. From my home to yours.
My work starts with simple black pen sketches — loose, whimsical, and full of character — which I then scan and colour digitally. The result is art that feels fresh, light, and a little bit playful.
Why the name Verbena Wave?
I love the Verbena plant because it is brilliant for pollinating insects, delicate yet strong and resilient. It nurtures. Wave because Morwenna (my name) means “crest of a wave”. Steady, strong and consistent. Together, these ideas reflect both who I am and what I create.
🌿I started Verbena Wave because I believe art isn’t just decoration — it’s something that can support wellbeing and help us slow down in busy, often overwhelming lives. Whether through a greeting card that connects you meaningfully with someone you love, an art print that brings serenity to your walls, or a fabric pattern that can be used in home décor or for creating thoughtful gifts, my aim is to create designs that feel gentle, grounding, and joyful.
A Little About Me
Beyond my sketchbook, I’m happiest with a book in hand, on a walk through the trees, or curled up with tea, cake, and some good music or a film. I love gardening, chocolate, autumn’s golden colours, and sharing slow, simple moments with the people (and cat!) I love. 💖
