Maple for College/Weddings/The Future Generations
Back in 1999, my husband, Kevin, told me he wanted a winter hobby. He had dabbled in sugaring in high school, and his father had done it as a child, but neither had ever gotten serious about it. That changed when Kevin visited a few sugarhouses and decided this was something he truly wanted to pursue.
That summer, we built our own sugarhouse—and welcomed our first child, Summer. Without our own trees, we started by "renting" trees from others. In the beginning, we tapped just 100 trees, all collected by bucket, which kept us plenty busy.
Fast forward to today: we now own a 38-acre sugarbush, tap 1,900 trees, and gather sap from two nearby orchards. Our children, now 25 and 22, grew up sugaring, and the business has helped pay for their college. Our goal has always been to help them graduate debt-free. Now, it's also helped pay for our daughter's wedding and will begin funding our new grandson's college fund.
Sugaring isn’t easy work, but it has instilled a strong work ethic in our family. We take great pride in the small business we’ve built and are deeply grateful to each and every one of you for supporting us along the way.
We never set out to be a large maple producer—our passion has always been crafting high-quality maple products for your table. We hope our maple products helps you create your own traditions and, as we like to say, "Experience Vermont through your tastebuds."
