Wood Wick Candle Care Tips
Always trim the charred ends of your wick with a wood wick trimmer before each new light. If you don’t, then the wick may not stay lit long enough to fuel the flame. The wick should be about 1/4 inch.
Make sure to allow the wax to melt across the entire diameter of your candle on the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling, which can impact how well the candle burns. (This goes for cotton wick candles too). If you already allowed your candle to tunnel, then you can try taking a blow dryer or heat gun to the top of it to even the wax out again.
Burn your candle in 2 Hr increments if you want to best preserve the longevity of the candle. You can burn it longer, but more than 4 Hrs and your candle scent will not last as long.
