{ My Inspiration & Journey }
I’ve also always had a passion for fashion and was concerned with leg lines on my ballet leotards at an early age! After graduating with a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising from Philadelphia University, I spent years working as a Buyer in the fashion and beauty industry and also dressed clients while working as a manger at Neiman Marcus. I’ve experienced first-hand how a client’s confidence instantly changes when they try on a finely made garment. It’s made with the finest materials and cut and draped with precision to flatter the body. I desperately wanted to transform my favorite high fashion styles from the finest boutiques and department stores into functional, performance styles for both working out and leisure.

I was disappointed with the uncomfortable, clammy, plastic-feeling, synthetic fabrics for activewear and felt this was not a suitable textile for my vision. I felt that they looked low quality and did not provide the versatility to wear my clothing from a long run, hike, or fitness class to a lunch date. Even with the rise in popularity of “women-specific” activewear brands, I still felt boxy, unsexy, aged and styles were not cut to flatter my body that I worked so hard to get into great shape. After all, putting on something that looks great puts an extra bounce in my step.

When my husband and I moved to Vermont in 2007, I met many serious hikers, cyclists and outdoors enthusiasts who shared their stories of passion for not only the “high” of the pursuit, but also passion for their merino wool “real” clothing. I learned that unlike polyester, merino is comfortable, breathable, resists odors, environmentally sustainable and incredibly luxurious. Recent innovations in fabric development of merino have led to modern, luxurious and resilient properties for high performance making it the perfect match in my quest for transforming high fashion pieces into luxe performance wear.
