Vinyl decals are die-cut stickers that can be applied to smooth surfaces for decoration and informational purposes. They are cut using a professional vinyl cutting machine from a continuous, solid color roll of vinyl. Dimensions are measured from the furthest points in the design. Measuring from the top of the highest letter to bottom of lowest letter (overall height) and from farthest right point to farthest left point (overall width) in the design.

No way! Who wants to look at that? Not us! Our designs are die-cut around each letter and image, made to press onto your wall or any flat, smooth surface. These are not printed decals with clear film around the letters, but rather individually cut letters that have been pre-spaced for you. When applied to your wall, all you'll see is your design, nothing else.

Vinyl Whimsy offers cut decals. A cut decal is a die-cut phrase or shape made from one of our many color options. We have both matte and metallic colors available. If a design has multiple colors, each color will be a separate cut piece to install.

Please be aware that some paints have a stain-blocker or mildew resistant additive in them that makes it very difficult for the vinyl to adhere well. The same is true for flat, matte finish, or VOC paints. These types of paints will repel removable vinyl decals and make them fall off or roll off your surface. Please check your paint before ordering to make sure it's not on this list of evil paints.

Our vinyl wall art sticks to most smooth or lightly textured surfaces like painted walls, glass, mirrors, smooth metal and wood, ceramic tile, even appliances such as refrigerators and dishwashers. The texture of your surface will be seen through our thin, high quality vinyl. It will look as if the design has been painted on your wall.

The vinyl will not stick to rough or uneven surfaces like cinder block, brick, stucco, rough textured plastics, dirty or oily surfaces. I also advise against orange-peel textured walls, or anything similar that doesn't offer enough flat surface area for a decal to stick onto.

We recommend allowing new paint to dry for at least 3 weeks prior to application of the vinyl. Please test the sample vinyl decal included with your purchase on your surface to insure that it will adhere. If you apply the decal before the paint cures, as it cures it can release gasses that may cause the decal to lift and not adhere properly. Vinyl decals are best applied within 90 days of order so plan your purchase accordingly.

Although our vinyl is removable, it is not repositionable. The lettering is extremely thin and tends to stretch as it is being removed. Each decal is good for a one time use. To remove the decals, start at a corner and simply peel them away. They will come off easily and cleanly and will not damage your walls. Landlords love us!

Letter by letter?? No, that would be crazy! Our decals come pre-spaced and ready to apply, making installation so easy! Two color designs typically come in 2 pieces with guides to assist for easier installation. We will include simple, step-by-step instructions and a small sample decal with your order. You can do it!

Turn-around time depends on the amount of orders I have. Most orders are processed and shipped within 1-3 business days after the order is placed and paid for. During busy seasons, orders may take 1-5 business days to process and ship. Please let me know before ordering if you need your decal by a certain date.
