Inspiration awakens at violet twilight, as the veil weaving fantasy and reality thins, and the forest, moon, and sea stir with ancient magick
My name is Emily Rose, and I’ve been a practicing witch since 2010. Violet Apothic grew from the things that have always drawn me in: dark fairy tales, gothic beauty, greek mythology, faeries, strange things, poisonous flowers, and the wildness of the natural world.
In 2020, I embarked on a life-changing journey from the sunlit shores of Southern California to the misty, enchanted forests of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. These mountains, rich with life and steeped in ancient magic, called to me with their timeless stories. Their moss-covered floors and hidden groves, alive with the whisper of old spells, felt like the perfect home for the world I envisioned for Violet Apothic.
Here among the towering trees and winding trails, I gather what the land offers. I forage for medicinal herbs, wild mushrooms, bones, and the delicate wings of butterflies. Forgotten graveyards call to me, offering peace in the quiet company of weathered stones.
In my mountain home I spend a lot of time alone with just my three-legged-lynx point Siamese and best companion, Ash. I cherish the simple rituals of life. I love to take long, herbal baths, bake sourdough bread, cook, garden, and craft my own mead, honey wine steeped in the essence of the land. I ferment nourishing elixirs like kombucha, tinctures and teas, letting time and nature work their quiet magic. On summer nights, I delight in the heavy thunderstorms that roll through the hills, and I chase fireflies as they dance in the humid twilight.
My garden is a sanctuary where the mystical and medicinal grow side by side. It overflows with healing herbs and the quiet danger of poisonous plants like datura nightshade, brugmansia, wolfsbane, foxglove, poppy, and henbane. Each is cultivated with respect for its potency and mystery. This space, like Violet Apothic itself, is where beauty and danger mingle, a living reminder of the duality that exists both in nature and within us.
I imagine Violet living in a small ivy-covered cottage hidden deep in these shadowed hollows. Her apothecary is a sanctuary of remedies crafted from spirit-led wisdom and the potent magic of the land. She walks the line between worlds, communing with fae and other unseen beings, guided by the rhythm of the moon and stars. To those who seek her, she offers potions and insight to help them navigate their path through both light and shadow.
Every Violet Apothic product is handcrafted in small batches in my mountain home. I grow plants not only for their beauty but also for their spiritual and medicinal properties, incorporating them into each formulation for the highest quality and energetic potency. Every ingredient is carefully chosen for its benefits and blended into elixirs that nourish the skin and uplift the spirit. To me, medicine is magic, a sacred way to reclaim our connection to body and soul. I infuse every creation with this belief, adding a shimmer of enchantment and otherworldly color to honor its story.
Violet invites us to trust our intuition, to step beyond the mundane and into a world of wonder. She guides us through our own shadows, helping us rediscover our truth, unburdened by the expectations of the everyday world. She teaches us to protect what is sacred, to honor our power, and to rise in our own way.
With every offering, she whispers secrets from the forest, reminding us that we are sovereign, powerful beings, woven into the ancient rhythms of nature and the mysteries that lie beyond. Violet Apothic is more than a collection of creations. It is a call to remember who we are and to walk forward with magic in our hearts and courage in our step.
