Making Judaica Fun, Meaningful and Inclusive
Joelle first started designing Judaica in 2015. She created wood items that she mailed all over the world. It was gratifying but eventually the intense labor and chemicals began to wear on her health. That's when she decided to enter into the Print On Demand world, where she could design to her heart's content, connect with fellow Jews and provide them with fun and meaningful products, and not worry about any health concerns. And Violet By My Side Design was born.
Violet By My Side Design is meant to be a place that makes people feel happy and included. Hopefully upon finding our shop, Judaica shoppers may giggle at some of the designs or word play, feel a connection with the Yiddish words they grew up with, or experience a sense of peace in the knowledge that their culture is being represented. Designs tend to be more on the minimalist side (Joelle is not a fan of visual clutter), and many have a sense of whimsy (or downright silliness) that is 100% up Joelle's alley. With a background in linguistics and literature, Joelle is in love with words and language, and this (hopefully) comes through in many designs.
