Well a couple of weeks later I found myself back at school so to say but learning old school jewellery making design and manufacturing. I loved it so much that I stayed for 4 years. It brought together all my favourite activities.
Heat! I hate the cold, metal, I have always liked metal things. As for jewellery I used to make ceramic items as a teenager and when I stated the course I just thought that possibly I could make a mould at the British Academy of Jewellery for soap to sell on my market stall.. things were not looking great. I had been signing on since my bag had been stolen with my business cheque book and driving ,licence whilst trading on the Portobello Market and trying to trade online in order to stay warm.
As was I then completed my level 5 SQA diploma in 2021 and headed for climate control research whilst dutifully following my CAD tutors advice and maintaining my online profiles in social media as well as my marketing project which is all over the place. From Behance to Pintrest Facebook Instagram and Twitter. Really I never wanted to trade online again due to spamming and other concerns but I was told that I must, so here I am after 2 1/2 years of theming weekly wedding boards on pintrest to attract attention...not to mention get a focus and at least enjoy what I also love spotting trends and researching all things life. I have followed the news in respect of all things climate change, peace and war too as they are pet concerns that cause me deep concern. Hence the themes that I select for my design mood boards. Something else that I love as it takes me back to Art and my first love painting.
Thus my jewellery serves as multiples and one offs with a strong view to all things ethical as well as climate minded. Forgive me if I am cautious with exhibiting but I still have a studio of missing artwork from my past to locate. It grieves me deeply that it may have been sold for the purposes of laundering the proceeds of vice by those to whom I had entrusted it. I pray not.
