Waen® is the small family studio of Murat and Asli, a husband-and-wife duo who design and handcraft stained glass objects using the traditional Tiffany technique.
Our studio is part of our home, hidden among tall trees, where light moves slowly across glass throughout the day. Here we cut, foil, and solder small pieces of glass into sculptural forms inspired by plants, geometry, and the quiet beauty of nature.
Waen began with a simple handmade gift. Asli, an architect with a love for nature and form, imagined geometric glass terrariums. Murat built the first one for her birthday and she loved it. That small experiment soon turned into a shared creative life.
We have always believed objects should carry a story beyond the assembly line. Each Waen piece is made slowly by hand, allowing light, color, and form to become part of the object itself.
Over time our work found its way into weddings and meaningful celebrations around the world. Our geometric ring boxes and nature-inspired ring dishes became part of proposals, ceremonies, and quiet promises between two people starting a new life together.
Our work has been honored as an Etsy Design Awards Finalist in 2019 and 2022 and featured by Etsy as a highlighted shop.
Today every Waen piece is still made by hand in our home studio. We are still deeply inspired by nature, and by vintage forms and objects — the kind of timeless shapes and textures that carry stories from another era.
