Find, Gather and Make

I am an Applied Artist working with wood, dried flowers and mixed media. I enjoy walking, gathering beautiful overlooked treasures, curating and cleaning them before my process begins. Cutting wood , sanding or drying flowers and carefully building artworks, creating unique sculptural houses, wreaths and cards, each artwork with its own character.
My little houses come alive when i hand paint the doors and windows, their personalities are revealed in the way they lean against and 'talk' to each other. When my children were young i decided to follow my dream and went to University to gain a BA Hons in Applied Art. My company name, 'Waiting To Be Found' refers to the natural and ‘lost’ treasures that i gather as i walk near my home in Hertfordshire. Each piece of wood with its knots and craggy bark are a potential sculptural artwork, each little flower is colour and texture waiting to be made into an artwork, that is how i see my found treasures.... full of possibilities...waiting to be found by me.... and in turn by you!.
I hope you enjoy my quirky unique artworks as much as i love creating them.
