A martingale style collar has two loops. The first looks like a traditional nylon collar that is adjustable and hangs around the dog’s neck. The second is for control when the leash is attached. When the dog pulls, the collar tightens and will stay snug around the dog’s neck without choking the dog. When the tension is released, the collar loosens again.

Each collar is made with nylon webbing backing which is a strong material. The activity level of your dog and exposure to elements will impact the the longevity of a collar. Each human should be observant of the condition of their pets collar(s) and assess if it needs replacing. The metal hardware is heavy duty and welded to ensure strength for even hard leash pullers. It is also sewn with heavyweight thread to make it as strong as possible. There is no way to know exactly how long a collar will last as there are many variables per household. Walligator Collars are made with very high quality materials which when properly cared for, will last for years.
