And so it begins...
Woodworking hasn't always been a passion. It wasn't until a few years ago that I discovered the true beauty of wood. I've always wanted a lathe, but never got one until this last year. Since I've always been so intrigued, I've always had a feeling that I could pick it up fairly quick. Once I got it, I took to it like a fish to water. I admit, I became slightly addicted to it. But hey, things could be way worst, right? My immediate goal was to become good enough to reproduce some of those unique spindles on my staircase. But, I needed some practice first.
Both of my kids have been HUGE Harry Potter fans for most of their lives. Both of them having read the whole book series, some books 2 or 3 times. I wanted to do something awesome for my daughter's upcoming 11th Birthday. What better than to make a wand! Well, that turned into multiple wands, a multi-wand stand, a box & more. At that point, I couldn't stop. These were just too fun to make & they got better & better. It was very hard keeping it from her what I was making in the shop. I like to show my work. :)
From there, it seems like I made so many wands for friends & family that I felt the need to share them with the world. Enter... WandCraft.
