Wayward Engineer?
You might be asking yourself 'what is a wayward engineer'? Well, I'm glad you asked. Here is the story behind Wayward Engineer Designs.
When I finally started thinking about it, I have been designing cards since I was a kid and we received a free Hallmark program for our circa 1995 desktop computer. From there, I learned how to manipulate pictures and text in the Microsoft Office suite and continued to create quotes, invitations, posters, banners and so on. When it came time to choose a college degree, Graphic Design never even occurred to me. I was good at math and science in school and engineering seemed like the right fit. So off I went where I worked my tail off and did well, only to discover I didn't love what I was doing. I completed my degree in Architectural Engineering and as a graduation gift I received the Adobe Design Suite and it confirmed to me that I definitely wanted to design and I did not be an engineer.
In the years since then, I have been learning all I can and designing for myself, friends and family. I had finally found my passion! But between working full time and starting a family, I hesitated turning it into anything more. Now that I am lucky enough to stay at home with my adorable son, I decided to just jump in and do it. Even if I don't sell a single design, just getting this shop off the ground gives me the satisfaction I have been wanting for years!
