My husband Steve and I have been married for twenty-six years. I know that seems like a long time to you — but believe me it goes by quickly!
About two months before our wedding my husband lost his job. That was devastating. But we decided that instead of postponing the wedding we would respond proactively. We started a new business and a marriage at the same time. My husband owned a Macintosh computer so we bought an Apple laser printer for $4,000. It printed six letter size pages a minute. You can buy a comparable printer today for about $100! We used it to print proofs for advertisements that we designed for local companies. We named the company “Always Letter Perfect.” The name was a little corny, I guess, but we have always strived for perfection. We have been involved in graphic arts now for more than 25 years.
Our involvement with the wedding industry came about in an unexpected way. Our children became involved in classical music and they showed a unique propensity for it. When people called the local symphony office, asking about wedding performers, they would often refer them to our children. As a result they performed in hundreds of weddings. And, because they were too young to drive, we attended hundreds of weddings! Weddings in churches, weddings in vineyards, weddings on mountain tops, and one wedding in a swamp. We learned that weddings are as different as the people themselves.
All of this experience we bring to our cake topper business.
Our mission is to design and manufacture a cake topper that captures your unique expression for your special day. So our goal is to offer a large variety of authentic designs. Some are fun and whimsical; “Love you to the moon and back!” Others celebrate the mystical union of two people: “The two shall become one.” All are an attempt to capture the emotion behind something that is really impossible to completely express in words — the joyful union of two people in love.
And we bring our standard of perfection to each cake topper that we make. We will not sell anything that we would not be proud to own ourselves or to give to a friend.
